Biography
Bornar, a successful runesmith, joined the Monsters after their 144th game, donating a fair bit of money to the team treasury. His career as a settled runesmith had come to a rather sudden end when allegations were made him concerning other uses of magical energies than binding them into weapons and armor. Indignantly he had sold his forge and taken his considerable wealth to start a new career in what had been his longtime hobby: football.
He earned his nickname when he started juggling burning torches every now and again after one of his teammates claimed having caught him playing with fire in a rather irritating way. Bornar played down the issue, arguing it was a common technique to preserve one's reflexes.
In his 8th match he scored the winning touchdown for the Monsters in round one of Scheduled SMACK ??? - his first major contribution (and SPP).
In his 36th match he threw five perfectly accurate passes - sadly, two of them didn't get caught.
In his first game as wizard (Monsters game #193), he threw a fireball the seriously injured the ball carrier, knocked two of his guards out and stunned a fourth player.
In game #247, first of FUMBBL Cup XIV, Bornar rescued the Monsters' offense with another well-aimed fireball against Dark Elves, bringing down three of four opposed players, including the ball carrier.
