Somewhere in a city a few decades ago: A building, it wasn't a house, nor a shack, it looked like an urban barn with tubes going in and out, rusted grates covering holes in broken lumber and different kinds of smoke pouring out of many of those holes. The thing definitely went *BOOM*. Neighbors mostly perished in the blast and all that was left standing was something that resembled a metal balista with rather hot bolts shooting out of it in random directions. A hoodlum told the guard that the occupant had been building something she called a "Rye-gum". It sounded tasty but she never bothered explaining it to him. A few weeks later from the still smouldering ruins what remained of the inventor rose from the dead and stumbled away in the night. After a few months the Rye-gum stopped shooting but the area is considered cursed and has been abandoned ever since.
