Christiaan den Visscher played a rather unimportant part in the Guilder's first season. Of the four blitzes in the team he played the least important role, and more importantly, he did not show progress throughout the season and did not learn any new tricks or skills. Although he was not popular by the fans or management, the Blitzer trainer Erwin Stein continued to defend Christiaan and said he was a huge talent to be reckoned with. After the sudden and suspicious disappearance of Erwin Stein, their was no-one defending the interests of Christiaan anymore and he was fired the very next day.
