Team Biography

Warlord Skree XII controls the Undercity of Mordheim. His only allegiance lies to the Warlord Gnawdwell in the City of Pillars. He has been tasked with keeping the warpstone wealth and the strength of the Undercity as secret as possible. Few from the clan are allowed to the surface of Mordheim and all are ordered to use the tunnel system for travel.

Still, despite the risk of discovery, Gnawdwell has authorized the Undercity to initiate a Blood Bowl team to help entertain and distract the Skaven masses. The stadium is located deep below the outskirts of the city under the old Peasant District.

Warlord Skree XII has decided to coach the team himself. After long days of plotting and conniving, the sport is a welcome distraction. But even this serves a purpose. If the team does well, the glory goes to Clan Mors. Skree has already taken the time to scour the clan and find the best talent warpstone can buy. However, he would never allow the players to know what he really thinks of them. Rather he gives them common demeaning rodent nicknames like Muskrat, Capybara, Chinchilla and Paca. At least, he needs to keep them humble until at least a glimmer of success is on the horizon.

Mordheim Undercity Background
Thus was gathered into Mordheim on the eve of its destruction all the sins of men together, as a boil gathers the poisons of the body ready to be lanced by the surgeon’s knife.

In the Imperial year 1999 there was a sighting of a great comet in the sky, a Twin Tailed Comet, was considered the sign of Sigmar. Many astronomers predicted the return of Sigmar, and that he would arrive in Mordheim. Massive amounts of people from all corners of the Empire started to travel towards Mordheim, filling the city far beyond its capacity. The morals of the city quickly degenerated into almost nothing, everyone was living a hedonistic life in anarchy, and as more and more people arrived in Mordheim the situation only got worse and worse. When this happened, the seeds of chaos and corruption started to spread among the new citizens of Mordheim, and it wasn't long until daemons walked the streets.

Life below the streets was equally agitated. Amongst the Skaven the twin tailed comet was recognized as the sign of the twin tailed rat Degeneris. The prophecy foretold that Degeneris, the lesser known broodmate of the horned rat would choose the clan meant to unite the Skaven Hordes before the final assent to the conquest of the surface.

It happened on New Year's Eve. The comet fell, but it was not the return of Sigmar as predicted. The comet smashed into the city, instantly turning it to rubble and killing most of the surface inhabitants. The Skaven were not immune to the calamity and several of the dominant burrows were bellow the Market District, the site of the impact crater.

The Clan Mors burrows were deep below Executioner's Square and escaped the blast unscathed. One rats misfortune is another's opportunity. The Clan Mors warlord Skree gathered his top stormvermin and eliminated his undercity rivals executing the leader, claiming the brood mothers, while demanding fidelity from the remaining masses of clan rats.

It was not until several fortnights later that the Skree began to realize the position he had stumbled upon. He had sent slaves to explore the impact crater. Most returned with mutations...gifts from the horned and twin tailed rats. A few returned with samples of the comet itself. The purest warpstone ever encountered. Almost overnight, Clan Mors in Mordheim had become the most wealthy clan in the Old World. Immediately, the order was given to bury the comet directly below where it fell. That is where it sits today. Hundreds of tons of pure warp power buried deep below the original impact crater. It would be years before the first surface explorers dared to reenter the city. By then only fragments of the comet were scattered across the city and surrounding area. The real power, Clan Mors, lies below the city utilizing the acquired warpstone wealth to pull smaller clans under the Mors Banner. Today, the Mordheim Undercity is only rivaled in size by the great Skavenblight itself. In time all will bend a knee before the Red Guard of Clan Mors.
