"Ogres only want make friends. Please be friends."

From a very early age, <a href=”http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=1868659”>Lionel Elfkisser</a> knew exactly what he wanted to be. Nothing could change his mind. His parents begged him, but he ignored them. His teachers threatened him, but he would not listen. The other kids at school kicked, bit and pinched him, and although Lionel cried, he would not give in.

Lionel knew that when he grew up, he was going to be . . . an elf.

The fact that he was twenty-two stone of hulking Ogre did not matter one bit.

The years passed and Lionel grew bigger, stupider and clumsier, but he would not relinquish his dream. After getting together with a few like-minded friends – <a href=”http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=1868665”>Bobby Happytoes</a> from Lionel’s ballet class, the noted Ogre botanist <a href=”http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=1868650”>Jonah ‘Hugs’ Ornheim</a>, pest control officer <a href=”http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=1868649”>Golag Rabbittickler</a> and itinerant wanderers <a href=”http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=1868648”>Lenny</a>; and <a href=”http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=1868666”>George</a>; – Lionel founded the <b>Friendly Fellows</b>, a Bloodbowl* team dedicated to showcasing the under-appreciated grace and elegance of the Ogre Bloodbowl* game. With Lionel’s half-brother <a href=”http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=player&player_id=1868659”>Johnny Elfkisser</a> installed as team captain, and a back-up gang of loveable gobbos filling up the roster, Lionel set out to prove that Ogres can elfbowl it with the best of them.

Terrified of hurting his elven friends, nothing upsets Lionel more than casualties and – especially – on pitch deaths (which is a shame, as in the first few games he caused three). Nonetheless Lionel bravely soldiers on, determined to prove, once-and-for-all, that if he so chooses, he can damn well be an elf.



*Lionel, disliking the ‘blood’ word, generally refers to the sport as simply ‘bowl’, or occasionally the ‘throwy ball game’.
