When the dwarven Mitrilvein brothers captured a young ogre near Tentowns, they trained it as a performer, and travelled south, entertaining the commonfolk with the beasts strength and stupidity. They made a small living, although they often ran into trouble with local law officials. Such as it was when they met Myrmeen Lhal, of Arabel. The notion of bringing an Ogre within the confines of her protection was not an option she favoured, and even under the promise of gold she relented only when she ensured her of her trusted elven friends would be part of the watch kept on Thal.
She was more wily than this, however, and on the first night of the performances, with her Purple Dragons at the ready, she arranged for a brawl to break out in the tavern. In the chaos of melee, it was shown that the dwarven brothers and their two workers were far more violent than the Ogre, who stayed peaceful unless ordered by the dwarves. To her horror, Myrmeen found that a young woman had brought her baby in to watch the monster, a baby now in danger of the violence around her.
Virimil, one of the elves, noticed this and dove into the fracas to collect the child, where he met the agile thatcher, Elfred. Elfred took the child from Virimil, dodged his way out of the confusion and found the Dragons waiting outstide.
Eventually the brawl was quelled, but amongst those watching the events unfold were those who had heard of the Forgotten Realms league and the Faerun cup. They approached the Mithrilvein brothers with the suggestion of them captaining a team, made of the co-operative abilities of these Cormyr races, spearheaded by Thals garguantan strength, to lead them to victory, fame and wealth in the League.
Although skeptical and completely untrained, the dwarves were used to performing for money and agreed. Under the patronage of Myrmeen Lhaal, and under the banner of Arabel, the team constructed a ground near Eveningstar and took to training.
