Kelemvor was once an associate of Cyric but became an enemy when Cyric lost the portfolio of the god of death and it was given to Kelemvor. He remains close to Mystra, who was formerly his human friend Midnight. His first act was to turn Cyric's bone castle into a Crystal Tower, as a sign he would hide nothing from his followers. He serves the dead with respect and treats them justly. Any defiling the dead are likely to be dealt with harshly however and he seeks to see all undead creatures destroyed or otherwise sent to their final rest and judgement. After the war with Cyric was over Kelemvor took the dead from Cyric's castle and re-animated them for one purpose. their souls and true destiny was not to die in a battle of Sword and Steel but rather a battle of Ball and Brains. Largely misunderstood, followers of Kelemvor do not seek to cause death. Rather their work is to aid all to understand and accept that death is simply a part of life. The goal is that all should die with dignity and not fear death. And with that, The Lords of Kelemvor only try to aid the few teams worthy of such a league to there true release..... DEATH! |
