VEREZZO

The Serene Republic of Verezzo is a Tilean republic. Verezzo lies inland, dominating the fertile plain with its walls and many bastions. The city is very compact and crowded with people. The streets are very narrow and winding and the houses are built very tall because of the lack of space. Some have risen so high that they have become towers which have been built into the defences. The reason for this is that the walls are so strong and occupy such a good vantage point on the only rising ground for miles around, that the citizens are reluctant to change them and build a wider and less formidable circuit.
Verezzo's colors are: Red, Blue, Green and Yeloow. These colours are associated with particular factions and policies, so after the voting in Verezzo it might be said in Tilea, "the reds are in Verezzo, we are in for trouble!" or "don't lend Verezzo any gold while the yellows are in", and so on. The colours are also used to designate teams in various rowdy games played in the cramped piazzas of the city. Naturally, these games are flavoured with politics and intrigue!

The Fellowship of the Ball

During the Age of Exploration, Tilea has become a haven of navigators, cartographers, explorers and discoverers. Scarcely a month goes by without a major expedition setting off for Lustria, the Southlands or overland to Grand Cathay. During one of these expeditions to Lustria, Tileans found the "lucky amulet" in a temple in the middle of the jungle. This lucky item has gone from one city-state to other in Tilea due to wars and pacts. Last owner of the amulet forge it into a blood bowl ball and suddenly his team starts to won all the competitions. In one match against Verezzo team, the amulet was stolen (¿Gollum?) and the merchant families of Verezzo decide that this item is to powerful and could change the game for ever. For this reason they decide to created a new team with the purpose to bring the amulet back to Lustria.
The team just join the world famous Cabalvision Super League in order to play games, travel around the world and bring back the amulet to Lustria without raising suspicion because lots of teams owners and coches will kill for this "lucky ball".
