It was a chilly friday night in late october... Jay Grobilk lighted his pipe and drowned another pint of Bugman's XXX... Just like every friday for the last century, he had come to the Drunken Mule after a week of hard work in the mine. So had most of his companions from Karak Ebir's most seasoned tunneling team... The other guys watched the Dwarf Giants win the Blood Bowl XXIV, but the victory didn't impress old Grobilk. "Hah," he grumbled: "Back in my days those pesky young runts wouldn't even be picked as a teams waterboys!" "Whatdidyasay?" Puck Pebblestone, a slighty above average tunnelrunner interrupted his grumbling. "Nothing", Grobilk said with a sigh, "just that in my days there were some real stars on the pitch. Good ol' players like Varak Goldball... Those were the days..." "You ever played?", Puck asked. "Sure! I was one of the best runners in the Grey Mountains League, back when I was 'bout your age". The other tunnelers had started paying attention to what Grobilk was saying and suddenly Jimmy Goldbeard suggested starting a team. Drunk as they were, the others easily agreed to join the team. Ol' Grobilk had just started grumbling about 'youth nowadays' and 'crappy, watery beer' when he was once again interrupted by on of the young dwarfs: "How about you coachin' us, Grobilk?" Zack Oregrinder asked. The old dwarf looked up. There were good money in Blood Bowl, he knew, and combined with the fact that he wouldn't have to do anything to get that money sounded good to him... It didn't take long for him to produce a contract that would give total ownership to him plus about 90% of the income. When the final player had signed the contract, old Grobilk leaned back in his chair - A broad smile hidden in his long beard "Foolish young dwarfs" he smiled to himself "They might just make it" So here we are. 16 games played and our first player in a Top 10. Danny Rambling is at 10. most casualties for active, ranked Dwarf runners - Definately not much, but still a Top 10 :D Update: Good ol' Danny is now tied for the first place in cas for active, ranked runners.... Update: Today (October 19th) we played our first game since the 4th of May. Got challenged by Emphasy's orcs. Showed how to play Bloodbowl dwarfstyle ie. fantastic passes to Longbeards in TZ's, amazing dodges and 100's of GFI's. A nice 2-0 victory... I like Emphasy - He sweet and cuddly...
