Opening up the season with an inexperienced coach, the team seemed to have no respect for him. Refusing to dodge, run or even be hit without slinking off the pitch. With 11 turnovers created from simple dodge or GFI moves the team never even showed up. This despite star player Bomber Dribblesnot managing to hit 3 bombs on target in a row, sadly only affecting 1 of the possible 8 victims. In his frustration he blew himself up repeatedly after that point. It cannot get any worse than this start. Almost half of all D6 were below 3 against a slick team who made three quarters of all 3+ throws. Amazingly only a 2-0 loss.

Second game against some old fashioned amazons, first half was relatively neat and tidy with the ball, 1-0 up but then a worldy TD against in the final moments of the half. Second half had chances but they never recovered from the first half, injuries to key players removed the chance of a late equaliser. 2-1 loss.

A classic game against Dark Elves that seemed to last an age, choosing to kick the rats defended valiantly but allowed a last second TD after having the ball in their hands twice. The ensuing melee saw the referee forget the time and there was a small chance of an equaliser but the carrier didnt quite have the energy to push the opposing player away. The second half saw some dirty play early, and a great TD pass for the rats to set up a fascinating finish. The rats again defended brilliantly and bringing the pressure saw the ball on the ground. With diminishing numbers of players due to the hard play they couldn't quite get the ball away for the win and succumbed to a second late score of the game. This time after Hakkaz fell over his own feet seconds before making the game saving tackle. Harsh on the boys, but a performance to be proud of. 2-1 loss.

If the last game was great, this was one for the ages. The Rats came up against dangerous Goblins. Faced with all sorts of dirty tricks the team went for the early score, 2nd turn boom, not before 2 players had gone down to a chainsaw and a dreadful foul that the ref ignored. Sadly this was a sign of things to come, after the TD the ref focussed only on the chainsaw, and allowed the others to remain. It carried on like this, making the England V France world cup game look like England had bribed the ref. Foul after foul, casualty after casualty. But they defended like heros with Vas Stisk the last man standing, although only long enough to tackle the goblin with the ball. Second half began and only 2 players could face it. They were swiftly ground into the dirt and the Gobbos scored an empty netter. The coach rallied his team and 3 players roused themselves for the final quarter. What happened next will go down in team folklore. Vas Stisk was playing above himself, he secured the ball. Hakkaz created a tiny opening in the inexplicably fearful goblin line. Clumsybrook made it through and Stisk lobbed the ball up high. Unfortunately a pointless gobbo grabbed it and the rest of them swarmed around. Clumsybone made an outstanding tackle on the ball, and freed it for Stisk to dance around 4 players, pick up the ball and sprint for the goal line. As he faltered on the point of scoring, sheer will power got him over the line. Truly exceptional. 2-1 WIN! RIP Iskikkr.

The Varsity rats had barely recovered from the previous game going into the next, it was never going to live up to the standard set and the Orcish opposition was too strong for an injury ravished team. 3-0 loss.

Coming into the game with a few more players back confidence was high. Stisk got seriously injured early and despite numerous shots at the ball carrier they were unable to keep the Humans out. Second half went well, giving them the run around but a failed catch on 3+ followed by gutter runner snakes stopped us from ever holding the ball in the opposing half. Had we held we probably escape the game with a draw. 1-0 loss but a great performance.

Superb defence had the opposition backed up and really struggling for the entire half, but then something shifted. They scraped a score, and then feeling sorry for us the ref put the clock back, against an open defence the rats were all over the backfield with a secure thrower holding the ball. But he missed the pass. The second half was a travesty for the team as half the players got seriously injured and not a single pass, pick up or dodge was completed. Great start, horrible end, horrible game coming up. 3-0 loss.

Receiving the ball in the first half against a fellow Rat team, Stisk caught a quick pass early doors. Defending, nothing worked and after surrounding the opposing carrier and hit after hit, we succumbed 1-1 at half time after a terrible dropped catch on the stroke of half time. Second half was much the same, all over the carrier but at least three key "unlucky as it gets" moments damaged any chance they had. 2-1 loss.

Up against a real mish mash of a team, we took some early hits. Hakkaz was having none of it, and started hitting them right back. We lost the first half 1-0 but decimated the opposition. Team talk at half time was simple, we go early score and then fight for the win. Early in the half a chance arose and with an open man yards from the score line a basic pass was missed. Sadly this set a trend and despite a few attempts it took until the final moments for the passer to rush a TD himself after proving incapable of passing the ball. Decent draw 1-1.

In another classic game involving the Rats, visiting High Elves came with some unorthodox play. The game became a slug fest and end to end game. Despite having the ball in the opposing half the Rats conceded, but as is the way, they went for the early score. Bad things happened to both teams, but the hits kept coming. It was a hard game. An opposing player decided not to live anymore and we levelled it up. 1-1 and a quarter left. Time for a trick play, blitzing the opposition on kick off surprised them and left the ball in our hands, a further 4 players touched the ball before we scored the winner late in the day. 2-1 win and some momentum building.

In a very entertaining and high quality game, the improved form continued. The ghoulish opposition killed legend Vas Stisk, only for a heartbroken fan to run on the pitch and in scenes akin to The Fast and The Furious literally cried him back to life with no medical ability at all. It is a shame for him because he remains so niggled that he looks more like a flattened crisp dipped in dog hair, but his playing days are over. Meanwhile his team mates professionally got on with the job. Defending nicely and creating chances but stalemate at half time. Come the second half the game swung from end to end. We had giant walls of flesh who don't even understand "ball" impersonating Griff Oberwald and lots of imaginative plays. 0-0 but by no means a bore draw.

The less said the better about this, boring game, never mind the fans, most of the players had left by half time.

A beaten up Rats team faced off against a fresh Wood Elf team and the game descended into a brawl. The Rats won the brawl after going an early score down, missing a couple of decent chances to score at the end of each half they managed a draw with an early TD in the second. 1-1.
