All player names are based upon some of my favorite sport-based video games. Why video games? Because MNF is supposed to be sports-themed and I'm quickly running out of names.

After Week 1, I've decided to try to get Jump Up on every single player on the team. Now I've done so and so far, since starting with 5 players, I've had a total of 8. 7 of them have rolled doubles at least once - one of them rolled doubles twice. Needless to say, Everyone gets Jump Up.

Week 1
What a debut! As of my writing this, I believe I'm on track to come in last place. There are still a few games to be played, so I may be a bit premature in saying it but I blew chunks this first week. My first game was a 5-2 win, thanks to some horrifyingly bad dice on Slick's part. He rolled 5 consecutive skulls for 3 easy turnovers, which is what broke an otherwise close game open. Of course, I lost a lino in that game. No problem, right?
Well, until the next match. A smackdown by Moxy involving the loss of my Blitzer - meaning I lost 170k worth of players (out of 380k total net worth to start) in my first two matches. Ouch. Another loss followed at the hands of Falcone (who was really on tonight and probably took the tourney with his WEs), followed by a hilarious spectacle of ones against Mithrilpoint (who was in second when I last checked in his first week in MNF. Nice.). I wound up with 9% luck halfway through the first half and only opened it up to 30-something by the end of the game. Absolutely terrible. It was a riot.
I ended the night playing another newcomer to MNF, Grystor. He played a solid game, but a little bit of the AG4 magic was back and some lucky plays let me snag a 3-1 victory. That Block, Tentacles chaos warrior was more than a bit of a hassle, however.

Week 2
Muuuuuch better. After a brutal week one, I almost dumped this team. Fortunately the allure of trying to get Jump Up on all players was simply too great to resist. It started off with another good game against Grystor. I got the win but he's playing well, so I think he'll end up doing fine in MNF. My only loss of the week was the second game, against Caileanhawk. His rats were just too much for me, and for everyone else, it seems. He's currently tied in first with only 5 games. After that I snuck by Falcone's WEs - a nasty nasty team which won last week's rookie contest - on turn 8, thanks to a lucky handicap. Thrall's Humans were next and that resulted in a hard-fought tie. I thought I had him once or twice, but it was not to be. Finally I got to play flyingboxers - last week's Vet tourney winner - and his ogres. Bonehead is your friend. Bonehead is good. I snuck away with a 4-2 win and all 5(!) of my jump up players intact.

Week 3
Mixed bag, mostly. I snuck past GorTeX (Snap finally made it to Legend after some brutally bad luck in the first half), followed by losses to Evo and Slick (Evo always beats me. Always. Slick was a new one, however. Normally I've got his number. :) Nice to see a turnaround there) followed by a tie to Screech (who is playing well in his second season) and finally two wins against Mithrilpoint and GameAvatar (both of whom were suffering badly for sins in a past life, I think. While my first game against MP two weeks ago was marred by dreadful luck on my side, this one was just as bad, only reversed. GameAvatar was playing goblins and couldn't get a break to save his life. A few riotous plays, however, made it a fun match at least). I ended up taking 5th in the tourney overall and I'm reasonably happy with that. The best part is that I lost one of my Jump Up players and had to replace him. First skill roll? Doubles. Naturally. Everyone MUST have Jump Up. Thus I decree.

Week 4
Week 4 was pretty good to me right up until the last match. Slick and I were stomping through the competition. He pulled off 3 wins (including 2 7-0 shutouts! Yikes!) and a tie and I managed 4 (much closer) victories. In the end, it came down to a battle between the two of us for first place.

I completely blew it. I played a pretty crap game and Slick was just on fire. He tore me up 4-1, I think. Even worse, I'd been aging badly. 4 out of 5 players had picked up injuries from aging rolls. I finally caved and had to sack the nigglers. Now only 3 of my players have Jump Up. This is unacceptable. Everyone MUST have Jump Up. Thus I decree.
