| People called Unwise on the vampire team who fielded one more bloodsucker than they did thralls, but due to masterful control of their hunger and group feeding techniques the Sons of Marius managed to avoid culling their herd too greatly. In fact, the second half of their first match saw only one feeding, and that in the dying seconds of the game. Thralls fell, but were easily replaced, and the vampire brotherhood began their Bloodbowl careers on a high, losing only a little to the much better goblin team fielded against them.. The second match against a high elf squad went little better, though many more casualties were inflicted on either side. Mainly by the vampires who succumbed to overzealous feeding after their previously abstemious match. The fullest vessel among the thralls, Greg, capable of feeding half the team by himself, sadly perished at the hands of a bloodcrazed Brother during one frenzied attack. Little else of note occurred until the very last act of the high elf team, to jump on the fallen Gaius, eldest of the Sons of Marius. The elf gang easily pierced his thick mail armour, and impaled his heart, killing him outright. The rest of the Sons waited in vain for their leader to return to them, but he would never rise again, having succumbed to final death. It was generally agreed that in future, there would be more food to go round. |
