Treasure-hunting in Lustria is always a dangerous business, but for one Imperial expedition it went drastically wrong. The wealthy businessman known only as GML was searching for ancient artefacts to display in his office when his party was ambushed by the undead denizens of the Vampire Coast. They seemed doomed, when suddenly the vampire leading them exploded in a cloud of dust, and the rest of the creatures collapsed into their constituent parts.

The party's saviour was a girl, blonde and undoubtedly beautiful. GML's first thought was that a girl who can kill a vampire would be incredibly useful on the Blood Bowl field...

Following the girl back to her village (which they called Sunnydale), GML found that all the women there was equally skilled. Best of all, they already played in a local Blood Bowl league against other Amazon tribes, the Norse from up the coast and even the lizard-like inhabitants of the deep jungles. GML convinced them to move to the Empire and the New World Slayers were born.

2497: A skink captured by the warrior-women of Sunnydale teaches them the game known in the east as Blood Bowl. With their combination of strength and agility they take to it excellently and are soon high in the local league.

2499: The Sunnydale Slayers (as they are known in Lustria) win the Sotek Cup, the first non-Lizard team to do so. This is taken by the Mage-Priests as a sign from their god and they declare that the town of Sunnydale is to be protected, as Sotek obviously has plans for its' inhabitants.

2505: GML's expedition discovers Sunnydale. He convinces the inhabitants to come to the Empire and join the Blood Bowl leagues across the Old World.

2506: The newly-renamed New World Slayers hit the open circuit. After a shaky start they begin to find their feet and may be team to watch, at least according to their Head Coach Ruprecht Giles, formerly of the Watcher's Corporation.
