ORIGINS

It was Count Gustav II who first began a tradition that has endured for many generations, when he sought the need to expand his influence to the far reaches of the old world. For many years the team operated under the guise of a normal human team playing only at night or in enclosed conditions for fear of the wrath of the witch hunters. Though the team was far from brilliant it still served the original goal better than could have been hoped.

In this way the Gustav line spread much further than most of their kind. In each town they visited they would inflict their wicked taint upon the populance and aquire many fresh thralls. Such did it continue until the infamous match against the human team 'The White Flame'.

It became apparant early on in the first half that the white flame were infact a team of witchhunters who had tracked down the Gustav family and had sought to inturn trap them in such a situation where there was no obvious escape. Gustav II realizing his error choose to reveal his true form and the match quickly became a bloodbath with Gustav the only survivor of the match.

After this Gustavs options were limited; how could he continue a team when his secret had been revealed? Yet how could he leave behind something that he had come to love!? Was he not afterall superior to the peoples of the old world?

To his surprise the number of fans doubled overnight. Many foolish mortals flocked to witness his team in action for the vain hope that they may be granted the honour of joining the ranks of undeath as thralls. Others simply liked the carnage that only an immortal can bring.

And thus a lasting legacy was formed.

A legacy of bloodlust and slaughter. A legacy of pain and suffering. A legacy of legging it when the witchhunters showed up.

This is House Gustav. Care to join us?

Match History

House Gustav 1
Kanibaloi (Wood Elf) 3
A very unlucky start saw lady Jazebella trip and fall as she moved forward with the ball in her own half, she would not return for the entire match!
Left with one vampire the team switched from a passing gameplan to a blitzing one and though this gained results at two key points (one of which led to a touchdown) it also left the team very open in defence. The final score is certainly reflective of the teams misfortune and errors on the day. Gustav IV did however play very under the circumstances.

House Gustav 0
Smal Hulks (Dwarf) 0
A much better performance than the previous match. Lady Jazebella performed very well and despite being outnumbered by almost 2 to 1 at many stages in the match House Gustav held off their opponents in a close match.

House Gustav 3
Nehekara Raiders (Khemri) 0
Gunther the damned, the new signing, truely was the star of this match being rightly awarded the teams MVP. From the outset he and Gustav showed they're intent to chase down the ball carrier through any gap that became available; the slower undead team finding it hard to bring their bigger players into the right place at the right time. The first game with no injuries also marked perhaps a turning point in luck. The supporters all agreed this was a massive improvement.

House Gustav 1
Smal Hulks (Dwarf) 1
Another tough match between the emerging rivals. A pitch invasion at the start gave the House a great advantage though the dwarves refused to allow them access to the ball carrier. The dwarves went on to smash a path down the left wing scoring just before halftime. Fans were furious with Gustav who had stayed far in the opponents half instead of helping the defence; his argument at halftime was he thought a long ball from the backline would maybe give an easy touchdown, a gamble that did not pay off.
The second half saw the dwarves blitz forward only to tie themselves into a brawl far from the actual position of the ball. The vampires seeing this managed to get the ball and despite a valiant defence the hulks could not hold the push which ended in another touchdown for the teams captain Gustav.

House Gustav 3
Nehekara Raiders (Khemri) 1
The vamps established early on how the play would be directed; fast and open. This obvously was not to their opponents advantage and the score reflects this. A good win.

House Gustav 1
Yucatan Defenders (lizardmen) 2
In what was certainly their most violent match so far the house were defeated in a vicious match. The first half started very well with the vamps playing the ball forward in several differant directions looking certainly like the more aggressive team, twice they almost broke through to score. At the whistle it all looked pretty even.
What followed was cruel to the extreme. A blitz saw the lizards surge in the second half actually killing one of the scrummage thralls; two additional players being taken down with injuries enough to put them out for a few games. As if this wasn't bad enough the vamps enraged by this apparent result turned on their own team and began draining their own players with alarming regularity. In the commotion felecia the thrall was also killed bringing the team down to just 7 active players! The lizards quickly managed to overwhelm the house to make it 2-0.
Against all the odds however Gunther managed to get the ball and break for a touchdown; the joy was short lived as he was caught and taken down. Worse still he didn't get up again and will be out for a few matches. Six active players. Things were looking very bad. The house did somehow manage to get a single touchdown before the end but it was certainly what one would call a very bad result.
