Once in a great while an extraordinary creature is born...a mysterious being neither lizard or cockerel, but a mixture of those two, born from the egg of an old rooster. It is said that even the slightest glance will cause death and thus he is feared and despised by all men. This creature is known as the basilisk.

The true story of the basilisk is known by only the few of the wisest scholars who have studied the lizardmen. The birth of a basilisk, foretold by the slann hundreds of years before it taking place, is of great importance to the them. As the world is threatened by the forces of chaos, the minds of men may become twisted. Lizardmen, the true adversaries of chaos fight endlessly to try and clear the world from the evil forces, as that is what the Old Ones might have wanted. But, as it takes great effort to fend off the enemies from the temple-cities in Lustria, it is impossible to send cohorts to the far away lands of men. Then a basilisk is born, out to slay the weak-minded men who are destined to fall to the clutches of chaos, becoming a great threat to the world if not slain.

The slann created this team to honor the basilisk.
