First Team Rejects
Retired [R] Orc

After another Brutal game, Izbal The Black Orc was waiting for the normal recruitment week to fill the ranks again.
Over the years he had seen this so many times he'd lost count.

The following day the call went out for try-outs for the coming week. And again as per usual Hundreds of Orcs turned up. All shapes and sizes. Some were turned away before training even started.
So after 3 days the new recruits numbered less than a quarter than when they started. Knowing there was only 5 spaces up for grabs they had to shine to get chosen.

Izbal was in charge of fitness and power training. He saw some great possible recruits, But for some reason they got cut. Told they just were not good enough.

By now Izbal had had enough of this. Recruits he KNEW could and would make the team better were being cut and rejected. He had an idea.

He walked up and told his boss he intended to quit. Not Happy that his star player wanted to leave he called the rest of the team over. After hearing the news the team gave Izbal the beating of his life. So mangled was he it was clear he would never be able to play again.

The following year after he had healed up he Started to follow Orc teams round. Mainly the ones who were in need of a recruitment campaign.
After seeing the usual rejection of Orcs, Izbal approached the ones he had noticed.
'I intend to create a team of you so called rejects and PROVE you do have what it takes to take the field'
Seeing this as a second chance these reject Orcs accepted quickly.

So over the next few months they scouted round and found enough REJECTS to create a team.
