Weijin Young Dragons

Weijin the seat of the dragon throne. The Celestial Emperor resides here and has taken a large interest in the cities college FUMBBL team. He has given a section of his mighty Terracotta Warriors over to college to take a place on the team. The college also plays host to some Celestial Dragon Monks in training, at the Emperors request.

The city of Weijin

A wonder of Grand Cathay is Weijin, the capital of the empire. Reputed to be the greatest city in the world, it is home to such wonders as the Paradise Gardens, the Temple of the Two Moons and the mystical River of Souls, said to allow passage to the underworld. Here lies the Seat of the Dragon Throne, home of his divine Emperor and the Imperial court of Grand Cathay. Indeed the whole city is entrusted to the running of Cathay and its sole purpose is to serve the Celestial Emperor. All food has to be imported into Weijin. More than a hundred tons of food each week is required to feed the bureaucrats and staff.

Weijin is a hub of traffic and merchandise, the profits placed in the Imperial Treasury beneath the Imperial Palace. Merchandise from across all of Cathay can be found in the city‘s many markets and the city is the centre for both import and export of goods travelling overland or by river. Because of this, there is a constant flow of traffic coming in and out of Weijin; so much in fact that the gates of the city never close. The broad cobblestone streets are lined with inns and taverns, cake shops, smithies, tea shops, pawnbrokers, gem dealers, cobblers, and shops of every other notable vocation, all among large homes, temples, and pagodas, while musicians, storytellers, acrobats, and jugglers ply their trade amidst pick pockets and panhandlers. Despite its high population, the city never feels packed with people or overcrowded, even though many people visit it daily. The streets are wide, the buildings tall and spacious, and even the gathering customers in front of the countless shops and inns never hinder the traffic.

Cathay Regional

Game 1: Fu Chow Crimson Tide vs. Weijin Young Dragons - 3 : 2

The Young Dragons went into the game with exuberant optimism. They soon struggled with the pressure the first game that "counted" something put on them: A missed pickup and a foolish attempt to run out the clock led to them being down 0-1 after the first half - and kicking in the second!
The second half started with another mistake, a and a severe underestimation of Liu Shi's Boots of Speed. 0-2 against after only a few minutes! However, a quick touchdown by Dragon Monk Ngan Hong gave them hope. A very aggressive defensive setup, a pitch invasion by dozens of overly excited peasants and some difficulties on the Fu Chow side allowed them to equalize, only minutes before the final whistle.
The young players already cheered, content with the hard-fought tie, but then Crimson Tide pulled all levers and in a fantastic team effort managed to score one of the dreaded "One Turn Touchdowns", leaving their opponents speechless, as Liu Shi dodged through their lines. Under constant high-pitched shouting of coach Rabe they tried the same, but failed right after the first block.
Coach Rabe immediately called the players in for a detailed analysis of the first half's mistake, very unsatisfied with the outcome of the game.

Year 1 - Winter

Pre Season Friendlies

Game 1: Copher Camels vs. Weijin Young Dragons - 1 : 2

A sandstorm is terrorizing both teams the entire game during their debut match. The Young Dragons struggle with the ever shifting ground and are not able to stop the Camel's offense due to bad footing. However, they hit hard and the second half sees them dominating the game through sheer force. After their equalizer, they manage to steal the ball during the last seconds and score a winning touchdown. Coach Rabe is really happy with his players' performance.

Game 2: Horumi Silver Cranes vs. Weijin Young Dragons - 0 : 1

Under a blinding sun, the Young Dragons score a quick touchdown against a faltering Horumi defense. The Silves Cranes start a solid counter offensive, but a couple of reckless, breathtaking actions later, the Dragons steal the ball and successfully prevent an equalizing score. Meanwhile, the game started to turn ugly. The second half sees a lot of brutal attacks from both sides, several young, ambitions players die or are forced into retirement. Caught up in the fierce struggle, neither team manages to score and the Young Dragons take home a bittersweet victory from their first visit on Nippon. Coach Rabe ponders over the future of young Dragon Monk and star of the first game Yiu Yunru...
