Dalvo was the most chaotic character I ever created, and arguably one of the most fun! A battlerager dwarf, swinging his battleaxe (which was almost as big as he was!) in great circles as he screamed insults at everybody near him, friend or foe alike! Often his buddies-of-the-day (few remained friends with him for long) just let him run alone for a few seconds, giving him a good head start, before rushing to join the battle themselves...though more than once the fight was already over before they could catch up!

Thoro was raised in a blacksmith, developing enormous strength and endurance. Unfortunately, he's clumsy, and is barred from doing any intricate work; mostly, this leaves him to working the bellows, carting around the raw materials, and showing off his muscles to the ladies.

When his town was attacked by a horde of orcs, he picked up a sword to rush to the towns defense. However, he tripped on some tools and sliced his own ear off, nearly decapitating a nearby friend in the process. Dropping the sword, he picked up a nearby sledgehammer and was instrumental in the town's repelling the attackers. Afterward, the local priest blessed the hammer, and appointed Thoro as the official town protector. Thoro accepted this new position reluctantly, as it meant he now had no time to spend helping the blacksmith (much to the blacksmith's pleasure).

As you probably can guess, Strider was named for the famous ranger of the Lord of the Rings series of books, over a decade before the movies were filmed. Strider was my first ever character, and lasted a reasonably long time, until he was possessed by an evil spirit and forced to commit crimes against his will. Upon regaining control of himself, Strider was so racked with guilt that he retired from adventuring, devoting himself to protecting the forest from his most hated enemy, orcs, who try to cut down the timber to make war engines.

During his younger days, Strider was a dangerous warrior, wielding swords in both hands and fighting off multiple opponents at the same time. When the danger became too great, he could slip unseen into the surrounding terrain, only to strike again from the shadows when an opportunity presented itself.

*** Top 10 Alert!!! ***
It only took 9 games, but already Strider's in the top 10! As of 28 Jan 08, was ranked #4 most cas by an active gutter runner...and after 14 games, he broke into the top 10 for most cas by a gutter runner ALL TIME!!

On 11 Mar 08, in his 37th game, Strider proved himself a true legend by refusing to age despite his advanced skillset.

It finally happened...game 38, an absurd cas-fest that saw 5 rats MNG or worse, Strider got niggled by a blitz. I've been planning to use the potion on him, but without a team around him, there's not much point...

As of 7 Mar 08...

Dawn was born deaf, a handicap which her elven parents lamented, for it meant she would never be able to hear the sweet sounds of nature or music. But Dawn found a way to turn her disability to advantage, as she discovered her concentration was far beyond her peers. When she picked up a bow and arrow, it seemed to naturally fit her hands. Within a year she had already surpassed the ability of her instructors, able to fire a dozen arrows before the first had struck its target (and they always struck their target).

Figuring the life of an adventurer would better suit her than the pitying glances of her "friends", she left the valley of the elves to seek her fortune. Eventually she met and fell in love with Strider, adventuring by his side until the fateful day he was possessed by a spirit. Though she forgives him all that he said and did during that evil time, Dawn knows she must wait for him to forgive himself before they can be together. Leaving him alone to ponder things, she continues to use her bow to protect the innocent, waiting for the day she'll "hear" Strider say to come home...for good...

One foul, one cas, one RIP...interesting for a paladin...

Lousy five-minute span...gets pasted niggle in t-16 of a match...earns game MVP (despite failing to pickup the ball 3 straight turns)...rolls +str at 6 spp...oh, the possibilities that will never be now...

Norak grew up an orphan on the streets, learning how to survive through theft and the occasional knife in the back. The only thing to bring him joy during his early years was the sparkle of jems, which he could turn over and over in his hand, staring for hours. By observing craftsmen polishing their stones he learned how to become a jeweler, initially to better know the value of stolen goods on the black market but eventually becoming a master jeweler himself and selling his products openly and legally. He never forgot his heritage, though, becoming foster father to a bunch of new generation orphans.
