The Gentleman Ghoul

The goodly lord Hadrious Weathervane Brackenshire Steadsworth the Fourth was born with a feather in his cap. Even as he hung upside-down having his bum slapped he was already sipping a cup of tea, tiny pinky perfectly extended. Yes, Hadrious was the perfect gentleman with a pedigree the envy of lords the land over. The Steadworths owned a great track of the lowlands, home to rich fertile fields in the west and slimy fetid swamps in the east. Though strict, the family was not unkind, and the peasants squalloring away in their fields did so happily, for a time at least.

Hadrious's grandfather, Hadrious the Third had been a gentleman as proper as any other in the lineage, but he had been possessed of inscrutable pursuits that drew him deeper and deeper into the bogs. On occasion he would leave in company, only to return alone. Rumors began to spread, but cautiously, as no one wanted to be responsible for falsely maligning the good Steadworth name. So, Hadrious the Third kept on whatever he was on about and the people nervously abided it. When in his middle age one day he also failed to return, everyone let out a little sigh of relief they had been holding for a couple decades.

Though his son set about quickly sweeping all this oddness under the rug of history, Hadrious the Fourth found a private collection of his grandfather's in a hidden room of the manor. On the advice of his father he kept his distance from the Third, but upon his father's young demise (the Chirping Cough, rudely killing both peasants and proper folk alike) he spent more and more time deep in his grandfather's tomes. Though he maintained the outward appearances of having a gentleman's private pursuits, secretly the mire called to him. The books hinted, teased, and enticed around the word without directly invoking it. But Hadrious could read between the lines, and one fateful night he made up his mind. He stole out in a ragged cloak with a armful of books and a map, headed purposefully into the swamp. So the Steadworth name ended abruptly, and the family's lands fell to ruin. More than that though, a blight of drought and sickness fell over the once vibrant fields. Over the course of a generation the territory became utterly shunned.

Hadrious, the Gentleman Ghoul is a necromancer of no small power, fallen prey to the dark magics of the Encarsled Swamp. There he engages in unspeakably evil and profane abominations of undeath, but always with the bearing of a man of immaculate class. He knows that the sacrificial dagger goes on the LEFT side of the altar, and all his zombies wear perfectly tailored cravats. He will always stop for tea at 10 and 4, and he offers his victims a cup and a plate of scones before getting back to work.

As a pro footballer Mr. Franck had the time of his life. He dreamed of the big leagues of BloodBowl. He never got to play the big leagues, before heavy drinking took over. He got into a brawl at the local bar in some unknown corner of RockCity, and got hammered down. He became physically weak of stature, but he managed somehow to maintain his speed and agility.
As workes from the G-Militia found him in the gutter, they saw him fit to try for the team. He got a place and now hopes for a new and different career than the one he started out with.

Johannes 'Shuffles' Dedtmann was a simple man once. A minor son of a minor family, his dream to escape the drudgery of life was to join one of RockCity's grand Militias. Unfortunately, Johannes was not a particularly fine figure of a man. Not big, not strong, not handsome, not clever. A slight incident with a horsecart at the age of nine left him with a twist to his left leg, hence the moniker 'Shuffles'.
And so the Militias were, almost one and all, considerably underwhelmed by Johannes.
Rejection after rejection worked him into a fit of pique the likes of which is rarely seen. Finally, he rapped upon the door of the F-Militia Hall, entered without a word, and challenged the biggest, meanest Ogre he could find.

Unfortunately, this Ogre was the famed N'Grak Millefeuille...

Some time later, the G-Militia were making their rounds, scraping 'fertiliser' from the gutters outside the Halls.
The story of Johannes may have ended there, but despite his towering averageness in every other aspect, one thing, one trait, one quirk of personality stood out - stupid, blind, sheer-bloodyminded Tenacity. So great, it deserved a capital, this Tenacity snatched him from Death's grasp.

...and with a rattling cry, Johannes' chest filled with the first breath of unlife.

Before being bitten, and changed into a zombie, Freddy was a Chiropractor by trade. He loves to give giant hugs, by where he gets to hear the crack of the spine reset, or unset. Unfortunately his own spine is crooked with degenerating discs. It is very unlikely that any living Chiropractor will help Freddy's own back problems, so he takes out his pain on his opponents. Especially when players are on the ground.

Once the much respected chef on the pirate vessel 'The Randy Giraffe', Alansis roamed the high seas. He cooked, baked and flambéed for all his crew. One fateful night they were boarded by some Undead. Unaware of the fracas above on the deck Alansis continued to make his signature dish, baked Alaska. As he marvelled at his creation he was to absorbed to notice the rotting flesh stench of the zombie standing directly behind him. The bite was inevitable. He found enough strength to crawl to the deck, past the screams of his crewmen and throw himself overboard.

He turned as he floated upon the great sea until he was found and drafted in as fodder for a Blood Bowl team.

Bernard is the unholy reanimated remains of the infamous lethario and bar brawler Count De Montesquieu. Best known for inventing the "Montesquieu Rules" for tavern fights. The rules were simple.

Rule one: Stand still you bounder
Rule two: Count De Montesquieu hits you until bored
Rule three: Count De Montesquieu enjoys your woman

In undeath the Count has found it somewhat more challenging to lure the ladies to his embrace, and frustrated has focussed his efforts into pounding the living into the grave. His plan is to kill all men everywhere so the ladies will once again see him as a choice option.
