Anywhere from an hour to a few days, depending on where the problem is (easier if it's a cable that needs to be plugged back in, longer if the ISP server building just burnt down).

Well, them's the wages of procrastination.
Contact your League Commish', maybe(?) they'll give you an extension - GL. |

Has any consideration been given to mirror server site? |

However, it sounds like a perfect excuse to take a few minutes to look at the I, Spy Kickstarter page...

While I haven't actually considered mirroring in detail, I have considered the more fundamental approach of hosting the site outside of my own home.
However, my investigations have concluded that it's seriously expensive to have someone else host the site given the resource requirements that FUMBBL has. Even the simpler co-location form of hosting is prohibitively expensive.
Colocating a 2U server in the Stockholm area costs around 900 USD per year (including VAT). With FUMBBL running on 4x4+1U (+1 for a switch), I'd be looking at 637.5 USD per month for the FUMBBL setup, plus hardware costs.
Right now, FUMBBL costs on the order of 100 USD per month in running costs (bandwidth, power, offsite backup costs), and another 100 or so USD per month for hardware.
With donations normally covering most of the running costs, and donation drives handling large hardware replacements there really isn't any margin to increase costs by adding cololation costs on top of this.
Using cloud servers for the FUMBBL load is far beyond reasonable (essentially, FUMBBL storage requirements prevent that).
Using a mirror setup would also require more infrastructure work on top of this, and I'd rather spend my time on site functionality development. |
