About
Thumbs up to Christer and everyone else who has made contributions to the excellent website & client(s)!

Became hopelessly addicted to this game & site soon after I started playing in 2004. Played as much as I possibly could (while studying a bit on the side :P) and had some awesome games here vs some great peeples. Still think this is the best comminity i've ever encountered.
Took an extensive break but now I'm back to give the new ruleset a chance. Will try to just play carelessly and have fun, instead of obsessing over every aspect of the game.

LRB6/CRP
I am and always will be a LRB4 coach. There are some great additions in the current ruleset (skills like wrestle, fend, grab,... allow more tactical variety), but in general LRB4 was imo vastly superior for a perpetual environment like fumbbl. I hate to be like grandpa Simpson "back in our days we used to tie an onion on our belt", but the current TV system highly favors older teams (4 legends and still a TV under 1600, WTF?). The ability to stash all you cash also makes (re)building a lot easier. I even miss ageing, cos I now see a lot of overpowered multi-stat increased positionals which makes for no-brain coaching. And of course clpomb is broken (I will never take it on one of my teams).
So far the minor rant, because I have found I still enjoy this game more than any other!

CR
I used to care and played to be on the top spot, but stopped worrying about that long ago. Probably been up and down every spot in the top 60 at least once, so no point in it realy. However, I have always found CR to be - in general - a pretty ok indicator of coaching ablilty, and still think it is. Apart from that, fumbbl has many, many great coaches and most know who they are (regardless what number currently is showing on their homepage).

Cherrypicking/Minmaxing
Pretty lame in my book, but the internet has tought that there are always gonna be metagamers, in any game. If you are a good coach you don't need to always play weak coaches, or have 'biased' games where your team is superior.
Can't see where the fun is either, hard fought victories versus a decent coach with rougly equal teams (and dice) is what it's all about.

Tourneys
For me it's not the ultimate form of competition or proof of your coaching ability, but for a change it's sometimes nice to be in a game where something (imaginary) is at stake :) I myself prefer minors or smacks but don't enter that many, I prefer just playing when I have the time.
I never seem to be able to build a team that can realy compete in the majors, but still like speccing them games though ;)

Fouling
Da boot has pretty much been nerfed in LRB6, so fouling is probably not that relevant any more, but it is part of the game and a strategy that CAN give you the advantage. Personnaly, I'm very unlikely to sacrifice postion to make a foul. However, I will usually foul as much as I can when I get the ref, but then again I will not foul when the game is decided.

Stalling (= good strategy)
Stalling is as natural as breathing to me. It is my most applied tactic and I will stall almost anytime when I get the opportunity, with any race. I usualy play for the 2-1 victory with any team. If you can't stop him from scoring, force your opponent to score quickly, and stall as long as you can during your drives.

Crowd/chainpushing
Great strategy, be carefull not to give your opponent the opportunity. It usualy shows a lot of skill if you manage this vs a good opponent.

That's it, just my 2 cents and no assault on anyone with different views - I have always loved the diversity that is Fumbbl. Play the game, do your thing, have fun and see you on the pitch.
