1310 TV Box flings are not high. It's only the rapey 30 game rule that made them play that stupid matchup, a game that they will lose and get slaughtered 9/10

Getting inducements is the only way to play flings though.... So the 30 game no-limit does them right.

well, my feeling : CPOMB is an entire part of Box, i got no pb with that... :)
Playing box is such a contract which specified you accept that :)

That team you played had no Guard, and you had 1. At high TV with St access teams, that's funny. Maybe take Guard as second skill on the new Saurus instead of MB? Could help a lot limiting blocks from these kinds of teams?

ahem... I don't think the blogs are a good platform for detailed discussions, but a few points:
- the blog post was a pseudo rant
- it was not especially about the last game, but about the kind of teams my lizards faced in the last x games
- In my experience Guardlock doesn't work particularly well vs teams with multiple killer or killerapprentices
- that said, I had two, not one guard and one +Str in the last game and would have taken guard on at least one more saurus as second or third skill if not a double and a str+ had gotten in the way

Trying to out-bash clawpombers in the box, without clawpomb, would be frustrating, I think. I agree that guard will help only so-much.

I find playing Elven teams at high TV in the Box very rewarding.

Since when was box not (also) about team-building? It's an essential part of the game (and winning) unless your idea of fun is playing low TV monsters for 15 games before restarting the teams. That's one of the most asinine statements I've read on this site.

People can play the game however way they want, and that includes the meta.

Team building is just as much apart of Box as of any other games. If it wasn't min/max wouldn't be a thing.

I think that clawpomb coaches should take heed. The Box will be a very empty place if all you care about is your amusement. There are a lot of none clawpomb teams that are fun to play, why don't you try one of those instead? Or is it just that much fun watching the division burn to the ground?

But sure, keep spamming claw and then complain when everyone else leaves and you're back to playing nothing but Nurgle mirror matches and Bill :D

After a certain point you have a very good chance of drawing a CPOMBer. If you are very likely to meet a CPOMBer you may as well be using a CPOMBer.

The problem of CPOMBer vs CPOMBer is that the match might be too much dice based, even for Blood Bowl standards.
Winning the kick off, getting early CAS and snowballing from there may affect the outcome of the match.
The game should be more positioning-based and less attrition-based in my opinion.

When playing vs Clawpomb teams in BB1 I used to put 3 Skinks on LOS vs Chaos, I had 13-14 players though.
The rest of the team was near End Zone to reduce the damage.
It's better to lose 3 fodder Skinks than 3 unskilled Saurus.
