Lessons from Human League
During the last months, I played almost only my Box human team (Vault Tec Squad) to get a shot at the Human League. It has been an interexting experience that I would like to share.
I started with the common build (ogre, 4 blitzers, thrower, catcher, 4/5 linemen) at low TV. It was a decent run, ending up with a 9/4/3 record for the Season 4 Conference and a team with evenly distributed skills.

Lesson 1: humans at low TV are great!

Then, I decided to give a shot at the Premiership, and I boosted my TV above 1600... And there I was trashed! 3/4/3 record (two wins are against Ogre...), a lot of perms in 10 matches and team seriously beaten up...

Lesson 2: Box is already dangerous at 1600-1700 TV and you need to prepare properly if you want to be competitive with an hybrid team.

So, I decided to do it properly. I fired the Ogre and the overskilled catcher, and trashed a reroll. I played 25 matches in the 1400-1500TV range, slowly and carefully building my blitzers. 15/7/3 overall record and 11/4/1 (the only loss from Tara and his lizards + wiz) sprint for the Conference and a nice set of opponents: I faced all the iter 1/2 teams except humans and woodies. You get everything: team in build phase, in for a recovery game, a few min/maxed. Nice!

Lesson 3: around 1500TV the Box is a great place. Lot of diversity and a lot of frindly coaches, happy to play against something different than the ubiquos bashers.

Finally, I decided to climb again above 1600TV to complete the Premiership sprint. I bought an Ogre, a reroll and a different mindset for my team. And you know what? 3/1/2 record to complete the Premiership sprint at 6/5/5.

Lesson 4: Humans are good even at 1600TV+ if properly built and played with care.

The team has now an overall record of 33/17/15, but short of both titles; I hope to defend the second place in both divisions behind the deserving winners Aflo and nufflehatesme. But I don't care, really, because I had great fun!

Lesson 5: it's a game, have fun! Choose a team, even if it's not a mainstream one, and try to get the best out of them, you will enjoy it!

In the end, I have to thanks koadah: the Human League Conference/Premiership is a nice reason to carry on my team through the Box brutality!

And here I was thinking about making a Box human team. Now I know what to do with it!

Nice blog. That pretty sums up the box experience : doing well at low TV is relatively easy, getting high not carefully makes it a pain. But when teams are built with care, higher TV is not only a place for bashers, hybrids and agile can be a lot of fun.

(well, I build my teams with so much care that in the end i play only a few games over 1600 TV, but still).
