WIL Lion Conference Bonanza!
What a day! 6 Lion Conference matchs set aside the conference as the hotspot for top quality bash-elf-run entertainment.

The day started with a fantastic mis-match up between CopyCat's beat-up undead, Necrotelecomnicon and GrinningD's chaos team, Ceredigion Carnivores. After Bill-BJJ had smashed into the undead team, they didnt really stand a chance, but an early MNG on a mummy (Oooh that's gotta hurt!) ended the game even earlier. Final score 3-0 to the chaos.

Next up (or actually it was on at the same time but hey ho), Purplegoo's necromantic Doomed From The Start (Necroooooooo) against Furious George's humans, Marienburg Athletic. More blood! More guts! Unfortunately for Furious George, Purplegoo found his bite again, inflicting 4/2/2, filling out all of the casualty boxes! Then again, with a snakes GFI fail ending up on a -ag on Purplegoo's star wolf, Revenant II, the game was still close. In the end, the lack of speed of the necros hurt Purplegoo badly, as he couldn't capitalise on the cas fully, with the game ending at a 1-1 draw. In the words of coach Purplegoo "carnage - and typical Wolf luck? :P I got a bit bloodthirsty"

Now it was my turn with my pro elves Manchesters Finest, against GrinningD's Ceredigion Carnivores. After all the bloodthirstiness of the first two games of the day, it was the turn of the elves to show off, with a total of seven TDs, as the chaos suffered a nasty outbreak of diarrhoea leaving their main tackler out of most of the game. Unfortunately for me, the dancing elves were soon to suffer, as towards the end of the game, the chaos resharpened their claws, with the cas finishing at 1/3/0 for the chaos. The final score agreed with the close nature of the match, ending in a fortunate 4-3 win for the pro elves.

Next was Purplegoo's Doomed From The Start, who were looking to build on their earlier performance in an attempt to escape relegation against the speedy skaven stars of Ludovicious's Sewer Thieves' Society. Despite Purplegoo's earlier protests that he would not be able to keep up with the rats, he promptly proved otherwise, destroying the hordes of advancing rats with a shower of niggles that could have ruled the cowering skaven out of the next game had it not been against the typically beat-up pro elves, Manchester's Finest. Even with all of the blood splashed on the pitch, the outcome of the game was tarred from Purplegoo's point of view too, as the lack of speed resulted in failure to win, and possibly even worse, the death of Mancubus Jr., Purplegoo's flesh golem. All in all, a fine game to spectate, ending in a 1-1 draw.

Next game was CopyCat's Necrotelecomnicon, still in a mangled state of course, against zombificus's skaven Karaz-a-Karak Warp Krawlers. The understrength undead got absolutely over-run by the rampant rats, with an incredible final score of 5-0!!! When asked to comment on the result by reporter PandaPower, zombificus had already ran off to dance naked in the streets, resulting in the public shaming of PandaPower who thought he was still there. What a fool!

Finally, the climax of the day was a new record high-scoring game between PandaPower's pro elves, Manchester's Finest and Ludovicious's Sewer Thieves' Society. The prospects of the game seemed to be severely bleakened by the untimely demise of Amir Khan, the star blitzer of the Mancunian team. However, the game carried on to be a fantastic show of talent, with the match topped off with a one turn touchdown by the Mancunians, to leave the score at 5-3 to the pro elves.

Overall a great day, blood and guts, thrills and spills, we were treated to it all.
