I don't regret to foul in 16th turn
Why I should?

https://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=3623747

I lost 3-0, I got 3 (2 thanks to Apo) players killed (one failed Block (saved) and one failed gfi, and the other without MB or Claw), aside of losing my Deathroller in first Block with double Skulls :D

Oh, and after last kick-off even, I got not one but two bribes.

It's wrong, just because I foul in one of the not extensive exceptions of an accepted foul?

It's really wrong? It's a bit hypocrital to accept most of fouling tactics but despite this if it's random Ranked match? Just don't care what others think if this brings less fun?

its up to you really, I wouldn't care if you T16 fouled me. But some will so unless I know the person and know they would see the funny side I wouldn't do it. Unless it was just a journeyman or a star player, then they should always get the boot :)

Always remember the out rage over a Turn 16 foul is heavily influenced by how successful the foul was AND which player the dog pile landed on.

Posted by JackassRampant on 2014-11-22 18:00:57
It's a competitive environment. It's kind of a jerk move, but it's just a game. Oppo should get over it, is allowed to prefer that you didn't.
Posted by bghandras on 2014-11-22 18:08:46
It is totally in the rules. What may bother people is the disrespect it accompanies while whining over bad luck, and claiming to be the hand of justice.

*grunt*
Posted by Garion on 2014-11-22 18:17:58
also worth saying is Newcastle are 4th and we suck :P

Just saying.

bghandras I don't get it if your post it's for me.

I think just that there's no moral issues to foul in 16th if you team get a beatdown. There's anything about justice but pure and simple seek of vengeance/retribution.

Btw, I disagree with my rival opinions about fouling, but if we play against in random Ranked, I will respect him and don't foul if there's no actual prize on that.

There's no reason to be nice, despite of playing a bloody game :D
Posted by PainState on 2014-11-22 18:28:56
there is a solution to all this underwear issues going on in Ranked over stuff like this.

IT IS CALLED BLACK BOX. One of the selling features over there is you can be a total dick and there is nothing anybody can do about it as long as you do not break site rules.

So if the moral norms of turn 16 fouls gets you all worked up in ranked go over to box and jam that foul button every Turn 16.
Posted by Jeffro on 2014-11-22 18:29:32
A T16 foul - for me - is like a slap on the butt from a teammate... if it drives a player 6 feet under, then it was just a slap that left a mark :)

It's fun times. The only people that get their panties in a bunch over it are people that get their panties in a bunch about a messload of other things, too... so it's typically a good idea to T16 foul them anyway, cuz if they're not complaining about something they aren't truly happy :D
Posted by Shinomune on 2014-11-22 18:44:14
Yeah, maybe it's time to get some BlackBox action :D
Posted by mrt1212 on 2014-11-22 19:23:25
Yes, come to Black Box. We will celebrate it! The best blood is fresh blood in Blood Bowl
Posted by Bazakastine on 2014-11-22 19:37:35
Nothing wrong with the T16 foul in my opinion. I don't really do it but that's because I don't really foul at all. The fact is you bought a bribe and you fouled earlier in the match. Oh and on turn 15 your opponent fouled you despite the game being already decided. If anything his dirty player had it coming for being well a dirty player.
Posted by scipio_uranus on 2014-11-22 19:42:22
Never regret the T16 foul.
What you could regret, on the other hand, is if you *didn't* foul much in turns 1-15. :P

(And yes: Try out the Box, maybe. :))
Posted by keggiemckill on 2014-11-22 19:51:45
Why would anyone regret fouling? Its designed to remove people. If you want to regret something, regret nawt Pilun Awn.
Posted by akaRenton on 2014-11-22 20:31:55
It's only pixels. It's ranked anyway, so if they didn't like it they just don't accept matches against you. Simple.

I don't T16 foul, but that's my choice. I have no issue with an opponent doing it, especially if I am stalling.
Posted by pythrr on 2014-11-22 20:35:41
why would it be wrong to use an allowed action?

Posted by JimmyFantastic on 2014-11-22 20:36:18
Foul all mens!
Posted by drunkagent on 2014-11-22 20:39:47
I have no problem with it that being said its a good way of increasing the time you will spend on GF staring into space.
Posted by fidius on 2014-11-22 21:07:11
It is always possible to play entirely within the rules and still be a dick. Having said that I wouldn't have taken your foul personally given the situation. I have been known to get miffed at the T16 foul, but I spend quite a bit of time on my team concepts & playernames (not to mention team-building) so it's extra annoying when teams are wrecked out of pure spite.
Posted by vaclav on 2014-11-22 21:20:46
in box and tourneys i foul t16 regulary, in R orddinary match never.
Posted by pythrr on 2014-11-22 21:37:42
why, vaclav?

only to selfishly try to get more game in R? way to live an unauthentic life...

Posted by Zed on 2014-11-22 21:57:27
i hate late foulers, the fouling art is to practise the whole game, if not then it's a very elfy move.
Posted by koadah on 2014-11-22 22:07:59
But it is OK if you are using elfs right?
Posted by Purplegoo on 2014-11-22 22:08:24
After all of the ClawPOMB chat, can I say it's wonderful to see a good, old fashioned T16 Fouling entry? Good show! :)

Personally, I only take actions to win the game, but I don't care what anyone else does. If there is a Star or Journeyman on the floor in T16 and the game is gone, you'd better believe that guy is getting the megafoul. ;)
Posted by bghandras on 2014-11-22 22:10:43
"bghandras I don't get it if your post it's for me."

I formulated purposely in a vague way, as I don't know the background of your story. Maybe it is not for you at all.

My 2 cent is that fouling is the real problem in most cases. It is just an easy target to complain about.
In most cases one or both coaches get upset about the game, then get upset about each other's handling of said game, and then it culminates in T16 foul. In that case the complain might be directed at T16 fouling, while the real issues are elsewhere.
Posted by Dominik on 2014-11-22 22:44:13
It's actually also within the rules of CRP to ignore the ball and beat up the opponent solely. This and T16F are jerk moves and should only allowed to be as a revenge if a jerk move happened to yourself before.

But:
Since CPOMB @CRP, I am not so sure anymore, if it is a jerk move to foul such a player on Turn 16 ...
Posted by Chainsaw on 2014-11-22 22:47:24
Foul T16 4eva!

Foul T15,T14,T13,T12,T11,T10,T9......... T1 as well!
Posted by mrt1212 on 2014-11-22 23:22:42
Fouling specific types of players is a community service - Natural OTTD and CPOMBs should be taken out with the swiftness. If you have 'em they've probably done more than their share of pulling your ass out of the fire, especially OTTDs. It's an eat or be eaten world in Blood Bowl.
Posted by koadah on 2014-11-22 23:36:18
@mrt1212: +1

It is your DUTY to take out these players in any turn. By any means necessary.

Other players? Use your discretion.
Posted by Wizfall on 2014-11-23 00:53:24
Got a game in B were i was massively outcased with no more hope of winning.
And because my opponent surely knows some pixelhugger here who doesn't care about the spirit/fluff of the game, he asks me if he could foul !

The poor dude was certainly afraid i call him a jerk for playing as the game is intended to be.
I said that of course that he could foul at leisure !
And it was a team i care about with my two best players still on the pitch.

I would not be happy about my team if my opponent doesn't play his best and according to fluff (not trying to kill everyone once the win is secured).
Posted by Wreckage on 2014-11-23 02:23:15
I think the only real upsetting thing about a t16 foul is that when you play on a site where there is some sort of silent gentlemans agreement to not do it, it will lead you to do a) leave pieces lying around you would have stood up if you would have known your opponent better and b) there is a lack of equality in weapons because you wouldn't have done it yourself because from a superrational point of view it should be better for both sides to let live than not let live. This unbalance in weapons again is the result of not knowing what kind of person your opponent is.

Once this imbalance in knowledge gets exploited a certain level of need arises to make others aware of this, so that the coach does not continue to get a meta advantage.
Well, you made everyone aware of it yourself now.
Posted by Bobs on 2014-11-23 02:30:37
Geez just don't out yourself like this ;)

Update: I had a long absence from Fumbbl. you will be seeing me alot more of me in some tourneys. I am not new to the game...And I used to have an old account on here.

Banhammer
Posted by keggiemckill on 2014-11-23 03:33:19
I hate when guys start new accounts after being away for a while. Sad bastards can't accept their old failures. That's way worse than fouling in turn 16.

@mrt1212 it's your duty to foul their Booty
Posted by Lorebass on 2014-11-23 05:01:32
Think of it this way...

I NEVER want to see that guy again if i have to face the team later? FOUL!

That guy could grow to a crazy player thatll help the team beat me later? FOUL!

There is always reason to foul.
Posted by SerenadeOfSorrow on 2014-11-23 07:46:42
i dont often turn 16 foul but when i do its because your a wardancer or witchelf
Posted by Dominik on 2014-11-23 09:19:47
The new account should get blocked.
Posted by IndiJuno on 2014-11-23 09:46:10
Do you think my new account should be blocked? kinda a dick move. I was away from the game for personnel reasons not because of old failures. How about my old inactive account that hasn't been used in over 5 years get blocked; more reasonable?

also sidenote I will foul you t15 if there is any advantage from it, but not on the last turn in ranked because I don't wanna be that guy.
Posted by roante on 2014-11-23 14:46:47
Wooo! T16 fouling, rated 6!
Posted by Calcium on 2014-11-23 15:13:59
It's immoral to NOT foul on T16, especially if you've beaten the team to death before!

Personally I get upset if I'm not fouled on T16.....
Posted by Shinomune on 2014-11-23 16:09:10
Wow, really I wasn't remember the T15 foul. And u justify Indijuno? With 2-0, half of team beated, just because maybe I can roll 6+6+6 in a 1D Blitz and stoped your third TD? Wow. But hey, don't foul in T16, don't be THAT guy...
Posted by IndiJuno on 2014-11-23 17:12:41
yeh, like I said if there is a chance to stop me gaining more spp, I will foul absolutely. t16 foul has no advantage so i don't do it, that's how I justify it. If you're new to fumbbl then you should know the opinion is divided.
Posted by Shinomune on 2014-11-23 17:23:25
LOL. I was the one that said that the opinion was divided in chat, and u posted a 2006 forum thread to show me that I was wrong. That's why I posted my thoughts in the blog, to show the 2014 (nearly 2015) opinions.

My objective is done, so I will reserve my future opinions to avoid unnecessary bad blood. At this point, more discussion would be meaningless...
Posted by IndiJuno on 2014-11-23 17:36:54
I posted the first forum thread i got my hands on, I don't care when it's from. I also told you I wasn't angry, but you should know how people think about this in general, sure start a meaningless discussion about it, mention t15 foul and say you got bribes, whatever just stupid. But sure go ahead foul last turn, time people out and complain if you need be because all that is in the rules too.
Posted by Shinomune on 2014-11-23 17:46:44
Yeah, sure. Meaningless discussion because majority of people don't think like you. And u defend nearly all T16 fouls except in non-tourney random Ranked game. Stop acting like I'm the only wrong here, because isn't just me. Peace.
Posted by IndiJuno on 2014-11-23 19:53:12
got it.
