Leagues?
I know I could place this in forum but meh I get people answering either or and quite frankly I do not care if people down votes my comments for the fact that I am speaking my mind and the truth from my experiences and its a easy way to find people that are quite honestly some of the most helpful people of the site. Who knew right.

I was looking around and noticed that there is not many leagues that are open for people that are in North America. I might be blind but the league thread post with the list shows exactly 3 different leagues. That got me question more and more and then playing a bit of a old mlb games and all that seeing the farm leagues in hockey made me think a bit more.

So anyway to speed up the process of my thoughts. I seen we do have a football style league and I know it has been made but why not make something a bit different with it. Get a league that is separated in three different league.

The Main League - OWBBC - Old World Blood Bowl Cup (or something else the names are just on top my head here.)
The Farm League - NGBBC - Next Generation Blood Bowl Cup
The Draft League - BBCC - Blood Bowl College Cup

these are examples of what I was thinking but it would be a bit complicated since the Main league coach would need to find a Farm League Coach that would be willing to play same race and use them to train either draft pics or just new players from the side of the road while the Main League tries for the cup.

The Draft league would be completely different as the fact is there students coming to school. This would be for new teams only while the other leagues not as much.

Main League - TV 1500 - 2000 (for the new team joining the league)
Farm League - TV New to 1500 (same as above)

its all complicated and yeah i made this in my head as another idea that i might suggest in the threads since that one I Believe would interest many many more people and would help new players find games to watch but that is the future when I finds the guts to throw the idea there. Though in all honesty the other idea was triggered in a sense from the legend league cup which i give them some credit since there the reason I now it is possible to make and me playing blood bowl 2 ((i just bought it liked the story a lot but did not learn to be better sadly :( ))

There is OBBA that pythrr runs I think.

There are other NA leagues, but not which run a promotion system exactly.

Go ahead and make your own though, I'm sure you'll get people to join.

I was part of a "basketball themed" league a while back... played 5 on 5. Was lots of fun, but ultimately leagues go the way of interested coaches. If starting a new league, I'd start small. 16 or less players would be a decent size, because you're bound to have a schmoe in the bunch. Not that you asked for advice, but that's never stopped me before ;)

The NCBBII is a mostly NA league that is based on college football in the US. Players graduate after 4 years of play (5 if they redshirt). There is no TV cap, but new teams are in a division with other new teams the 1st year and every year after year 4, some of your players will have to retire. Usually get 9 games in per season, plus bowl games.

After graduation, the players enter the draft in the NBFL, a (mostly) NA league based on the NFL. They draft players from the NCBBII.

There is also the NWFL, another nfl type league mostly with NA coaches. Preseason games if you want (up to 3), 14 game regular season, then playoffs, teams that don't go to the playoffs can join a non-playoff tournament as well.

Leagues are great! I do however, suggest that you play in one for a season before trying to run your own.

OBBA has a MLS style NA division.

Xelrerog I did look at them and trying o figure out how it works all I got from the information was a headache. I wanted to try and be a school since in my own league I would be either farm or draft class coach since I am not that good at the game and need to learn to be better. ((My last game i made 2 major mistake that was just stupid and lost me three players 1 death.... I am keeping the team but know not to play chaos dwarf with amazons since there dodge is pretty much out the window and its there only true advantage since they have nothing else as advantage. I mean if I could join the college league I might try but im so lost looking at there info making me even thinking of starting my own. It is not the same thing at all as what I am planning per say though.

1. Spectate league games.
2. Ask questions to those who spectate.

There simply aren't many NA time zone coaches. Consequently there aren't a ton of NA leagues. Both the NWL, and the NBFL are fantastic and you'd do well joining either, or both.

Of course you can just launch a league, some people will come. but your lack of activity will put some people off as they will worry 'will he stay'.

Your best route forward is to join 1(or more) of the current NA leagues, we do have them as others have said. All will accept and welcome any new coaches. Standards always vary, and most will, especially in L, advise and help you (as they beat you, or just after). Also you will meet and make friends with people to eventually form your dream league with.

the idea you have is very similar(though different) to the Draft league already run in NA, looks like the ideal place to start.

if you havnt yet, you should also seek out the 145 club, a group run for newer coaches to meet and play each other as they learn.
Posted by Throweck on 2016-12-14 13:36:12
The 145 club is a little quiet at the moment but I think this is due to the holiday period approaching. People have less time to play.

KPL will be starting up soon, revamped and better than ever. It has a North American group.

I am playing with 145 club and great people but so few games i had more games with a ranked elf.... those poor elves where so cursed by the dices i had to let them go.... in 3 days that i did with my 145 team in a third of the time. Without playing not much learning happens
