Versatile Underworld
The new rankings inform me that apparently I am an Underworld Super Star, which seems kind of silly at 5/2/4 games and who cares about rankings anyway, right? Ah, who am I fooling, I love it! I would display it as custom ranking if only it had a logo!

Anyway, I started the Vermin Crawlers just for laughs but since they're so much fun and even somewhat successful, and since the BoxBot seems to favor them on the Draw (or is that just a misperception), I'm now coming to consider team development options. The "all mens CPOMB" option has been tried with mixed success which is probably as much as can be expected for UW. But it simply doesn't appeal to me. If I wanted to play "all mens CPOMB" I'd play Pact. Admittedly that CPOMB Goblin I once saw was hilarious but past that, it's just lame. So I'm going for something more versatile. Here's my current thinking:

* Dodge on doubles for most Skavens, followed by Two Heads.
* One Blitzer is the CPOMBer, the other starts with Guard, then MB Tackle Claw.
* One Lineman goes Block Claw Tackle, one goes Wrestle Tackle Two Heads.
* Goblins go Two Heads on first skill obviously, it's just too awesome. Hope for an AG4 and give him Big Hand. Otherwise, I've seen many coaches go Foul Appearance as second skill. I'm not so sure about that. Trusty old Side Step seems the better option to me. On doubles, Wrestle, followed by Horns, for cage breaking goodness!
* Current Troll has Block Claw which is awesome. Will probably get Guard next skill, I think you just need some Guard though most coaches seem to go Tents. Tents will be next and then SF if he ever gets that far.
* Buy a third re-roll. Screw Leader, he will die anyway and if he doesn't, he is one of only six players with G access so you can put that skill to better use.

Anyway, that's the battle plan. If I can keep my squishy little Vermins alive, now that I blogged about them…

I'm playing UW lately and all those development plans look awesome!

but...

I've learnt one thing with UW, plans doesn't work! expect the unexpected!

That sounds like a solid game plan for development. You'll want Guard eventually on the CPoMber if he lives long enough just because you have so few Guard options. I definitely agree with Wrestle on the goblins on doubles. Wrestle/Two Heads/Horns is pretty awesome while they last. If you get a 2nd double on that Wrestle goblin, I suggest Strip Ball. I also agree with you about Side Step over Foul Appearance on the gobbos, though FA might be useful on a Wrestler.

two heads can work on the skaven even if you don't have dodge. They turn into wood elf linemen for movement (and price), and you can always add dodge later. And you probably will need to be dodging them some to keep them alive Also: Horns on a blitzer or a lino (for just 20K!) with wrestle/strip horns and tackle or two heads is a force indeed. :D

No love for tents with the troll? Or pro? I'd take them both ahead of crrraaawwww.

IMHO a troll's main contribution is utility/roadblock. Guard to help, stand firm to hold the line. Mark and hold, especially with tents. If you're using him, he's going to hit stupid fairly often and take himself out of turns.

Thanks for your comments! I would take Pro on second double, Chainsaw, Claw is a single. Since the Troll has Block, I use him for Blocking quite often. Sometimes he goes stupid at the worst imaginable moment but otherwise he really rocks. He is Papa Roach after all!

block claw is gold on a troll. The other skills come fast after that. Tents is nice because you get to block more and walk less. =) Better in R than B, I guess, though.
