Ok, so I pick my opponents carefully a lot of the time (usually no chef, no game), but a 50/25/38 record with flings in ranked still isn't bad. I play for fun, and have found my bunch of tiny little fat dudes to be the most fun I've had on Fumbbl. At times they've even cleared a pitch or two. We even briefly had a fling legend, my first and only ever Fumbbl legend player (http://fumbbl.com/p/player?op=view&player_id=9075975). But the unexpected benefit of playing as fat stumpy fellas is that you tend to take more care with positioning and in theory become a better coach. I'm certainly not a great coach, but I'm definitely better than I was before creating the team.

There are several long running fling teams out there far better coached than mine, and far tougher to play against, most of which inspired me to make the team in the first place. Flying Sammiches, Fling Mafia, Hobbiton Titans, Shame, Tuerats Tuerats pas and of course Left My Heart In San Francisco.

I can't recommend enough giving flings a try, just remember to foul like your life depends on it (it does), pray for some ag stat boosts, and most importantly of all don't take it too seriously. When it goes badly, it goes VERY badly.
