What am I doing wrong? Part 4: The Hands of Fate: Electric Boogaloo
https://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=3710495

I've definitely gotten slightly better but I still have a huge wealth of issues. In this game in particular on turn 1 alone I completely forget that stand firm exists and push my entire team to one side of the field when the ball is in the middle. The biggest thing I catch myself doing is far too many one die blocks and sometimes I don't think frenzy through, but a lot of the time it feels like I just end up way down on players even when I do my best to expose myself to as few blocks as possible and it all spirals out of control from there and I end up having to pull off like 5 4+ dodges to have any chance of scoring.

Losing 3-0, though? That's humiliating, and had never happened to me until now! What am I doing wrong??

Here's a reward for reading this whole thing.

You have a positive record so you must be doing something very right!

What happened to parts 2 and 3? Are you marking players important skills? Such as Stand Firm.

Generally I'd head centre at first, and then choose a wing with teams that slide around, such as Norse for example. Rather than head to one side and let your opponent know your intended plan.

3-0? Losing 7-0 is my record, 3-0 is a regular occurrence. It wasn't humiliating, I'm just not that good of a coach. :)

Had time to just watch a bit of the 1st half and one small piece of advice - when kicking off against Necro, placing your werewolf 1 square from the sidelines and unprotected is asking to get surfed on T1. But as others have mentioned, you're doing well so don't sweat it too much. :)

I thought your 7th turn was quite complex.
It would make sense to include something like that into a play textbook and to let people discuss the best way to deal with the situation.

I think the best opening move would be Ksomax blocking Limon but gotta admit, that's pretty hard to see.

Using Blazecaster to blitz Prunus didn't make much sense to me. It was a 1d with a frenzy follow up block -2d, whereas the first block just coincidentally happened to end in a pow.
With Quercus being the key issue for you to begin with to neglect the 2d on him and to opt for that I could only explain it away as a misclick...

After not pushing Limon, moving Lustful was pretty much the only play left as.. I think you correctly assessed when you proceeded to 1d block with Bzutr first. But the trade off in probability for this in this moment was already massive.

After all doding into a tacklezone ain't that much harder either..

Last turn your opponent overlooks Rhododentron blocks Ooze, follow up. Azer blitzes Bzutr, follow up.. Limon 1d blocks Bzutr.. Pinos hands off to Carmona. Sageretta and Taxus close the holes.

Quercus blocks Bzutr into Carmona, Carmone scores...

I don't know why are you complaining about, mate. You are doing pretty well in your beginning.

"I thought your 7th turn was quite complex.

Just had a look at that, and I was ok with Ksomax blocking the other zombie. As it freed up a potential run for the ghoul and gave the wolf a 2d hit ont he golem. The mistake for me was the wolf not then hitting the golem. He had 2 controlled 2d hits there and would have freed the other golem and given the ghoul the room to run.

By the way, where did that new pitch come from!

I think you get to see it just in the replays.

I guess I was looking for a way not to solely have to rely on success of the Wolf.

But upon recalculating the odds you're probably right. The probability of success was extremely high and another blockless 2d would have actually reduced the odds... + allowed for a failsave 1d in the end... initially i was looking for a way around the ghoul but its impossible to make range there due to the stunned player next to him... and the being tapped and might be dropping the ball argument isn't really a factor either since the other team doesn't have range...

Thanks for the feedback! I really did mess up that 7th turn.

I get the feeling you're a drunk blogger....which I can sympathise with.
