A Year Of Blood Bowl
Wow a whole year. (Well not quite yet but im sure if i dont write this today ill forget)

So my first year of fumbbl is up what can i say. When i signed up i never expected to put in this amount of time in. Over the year ive played 422 games to date thats an average of 1.3 games per day a significant portion of my life is now dedicated to this game.

So what have i learned and what have i achieved.

Luck - Luck comes and goes no one is lucky no one is unlucky for every 1 there is a 6 for every skull there is a pow this is undeniable and universal it cannot be changed.

Positioning - The biggest difference between nOObs and the pros is positioning. Its a lesson you learn slowly but the most important one you will learn.

Team Development - Play for the game not for the players. Yes we all have our favorite players (a certain claw/rsc/block/tackle/multiblock/breaktackle Ma6 St3 Ag1 Av7 beastman jumps to mind :P) but they WILL die. Even if they dont you will throw away your team and your win ratio as you watch your tr bloat. If you play for the team and for the game you will see that retiring players is no big deal infact sometimes you will sigh with relief that they died on the pitch like heros instead of having to be let go.

Fouls - Learn to love the foul.

If you hate the foul 4 outcomes are possible.

1. You Foul and your opponent fouls = You are not happy.
2. You Foul and your opponent dosent = You are not happy.
3. You dont and your opponent does = You are not happy.
4. You dont and your opponent Dosent= You are HAPPY.

Once you have leaned to Love the Foul 4 outcomes are possible.

1. You Foul and your opponent fouls = You are HAPPY
2. You Foul and your opponent dosent = You are Happy
3. You dont and your opponent does = You are Happy
4. You dont and your opponent Dosent= You are not HAPPY.

So learn to love the foul. But also remember to foul like a surgeon, take out key players, get in the free fouls 1 per half, see a foul from your opponent as an opportunity to get in 1 more foul this half and take dp even if only as a decoy (many players will throw away position to multi foul a downed dp'er.)

Box - Theres only one way to get better and that's to play better opponents and all the good ones are in the box. Yes your teams will die but your experience will increase and you will get "fair" matches.

Other divisions - Dont be a jackass and say there is only [ B ] or only [R] realise that people have different goals here and that different divisions cater to those. The most fun games i have played have all been in [L] and when the box is slow [R] is great for a quick game.

So what have i acheived.

Well my win rate is still horrific 41% but im sure i was hovering around the 25% mark for a long time so im sure ive improved alot. And considering the percentage of games in the box against much better opponents i think i can be proud of 41%.

I made my first legend that monster beastman i talked about before not that clever but still an acheivment.

Biggest win 5-0 http://www.fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&op=view&id=2801560

Biggest loss 0-5 several times :P

But more than anything it’s the coaches you meet along the way and the chat in mIRC sure there are douch bags but the majority are excellent. In a completive environment theres always going to be trash talk and plenty of your mummas but most of this seems to be in spirit. And I wanted to thank each of you win/lose or draw whether you’re a t16-fouling/stalling/multi-dp-kemri coache or a elf balling/cherrypicker or just BillBrasky all of you for the fun times over the last year. Thank you.

So where is this all heading well as I stated my 1 year anniversary on fumbbl is coming up and as of yet ive been a low life freebooter not contributing at all to the site (except for inventing the most awesome time passing game for box players only :P) so I thought it was about time to contribute. WEEELLLL its not in my nature to hand over money for something that’s free so im not gunna make it easy but heres the deal. Infact ill make a new Blog cos sum people wont read threw all that lol.
