Necro Development - A Journey
I've begun a team with the intention of exploring the positional side of the game. At this point - and possibly forever - I'm not taking PO. I'm curious to see if I can compete without it. I'm pretty happy with my roster atm. Lots of plans for the future:

Ag4 wolf: ss/tackle of course
other wolf: mb or jugger would be welcome... else diving tackle

golems and wights; some combination of blodge/sf/guard/tackle/mb and grab (someday)

not entirely sure how I feel about skilled zombies. They're very useful, but somewhat bloaty... Jury's still out on this one. I like fend.

Ghoul - eventually looking for one with blodge sure hands ss and one with blodge ss dt.

I just rolled a double on the ghoul - would you ignore it? I considered both guard and mb, and even leader, but none of that really seems appealing... tempted to skip.

Experiment is to skimp on MB in favor of positional skills and see if I can still win games.

Do you think my experiment will work? Can necro win solely on position? Would you skip the ghoul's double? Tell me what you love, tell me what you hate, give me advice.

Thanks!

I like your approach!

Maybe SF on the ghoul? Blodge + DT + Stand Firm is awesome, sometimes better than Side Step.
Guard in combination with Blodge + Side Step + DT would be nice, too. That's a lot of skills though. However, Guard is always useful as long as it lasts. And a rather mobile blodging guard fits your concept quite well.

No advice, just a question, is that a Banksy?

I would take Leader on a ghoul double. Guard otherwise.

Actually if the ghoul was +AG, I'd take pass.

I like block/fend zombies. Playing bash teams is a lot tougher without them, as they become much better at holding up play and marking dangerous players.

You need some mighty blow. Without it, you'll struggle to beat fast, agile teams - rats and wood elves are much easier when you can bash them off the park.

@Rabe; rather than stand firm on the ghoul, I'd be looking to get DT on a wight on a double. That's my personal preference though and it could be argued that SF/DT/blodge is easier to acquire on a ghoul (1 double) than a wight (2 doubles). However, ghouls die more quickly.

Hmmm Thanks for the advice guys... went for leader after all. Trying it out to see how it feels!

Mb will come in time... But the test is to find out if I can win even when my cas dice suck... Because after all, if you can't pierce armor, MB is totally wasted! Some games will just be like that. Can you win anyway? I'm going to try!

Araznaroth - yes I believe it is.
