All agility (+ST!) and no skills (iii)
This is the third entry about Lule, the wolf with lots of stats but no skills. I've got plenty of experience with necro, but I've never had a player quite like this. She had AG5 after the first two skill rolls. In the last game, against a solid human team, she succeeded in getting the 6 SPP needed for the next skill level. I was really looking forward to getting dodge for some added protection and to help her dodging. So what did I get? 6+6!

Of course I chose +ST. But in my opinion this is all happening in the wrong order! Now I need another 20 SPP, without any protective skills, before I can get dodge, then another 25 SPP for block. I was thinking of getting leap and then sidestep or sure hands (but after your kind input I opted for sure hands instead of sidestep), but now I'm really not sure. Should I just resign to the fact that she has become the perfect ball carrier and get sure hands if she ever becomes a legend? Such a pity though, I was really looking forward to having fun with Leap.

My plan for the rest of the team is as follows:

Ume (other wolf): main blitzer. sidestep (protection and help with surfing), tackle and hopefully MB at some point.
Wights: utility players. They've got guard already, next step is tackle and then mighty blow.
Flesh Golems: roadblocks. Will be so much better when they get block and guard.
Zombies: first to get a non double skill will get kick. Otherwise block on normals and guard on doubles. At some point I might consider a dirty player. I hardly ever fouled before, but I've begun to learn to appreciate that art now that I've started to play a goblin team.
Ghouls: first one got introduced now. The first one will get wrestle, tackle, sidestep, diving tackle (being optimistic about the life span here) while the second will get block, sure hands, sidestep to carry the ball up, freeing up Lule for other duties, and then hand over the ball at 2+ even if it's raining or Lule is marked. And in that case, maybe I could skip sure hands for Lule and get the Leap I so much wanted?

I greatly appreciate any opinions and advice.

You are really just teasing Nuffle to give you another stat increase next skill-up, aren't you? :D

Verminardo: I didn't even dare to suggest that! What will I do then? At some point she _really_ needs at least dodge and block, but who's going to say no to another +ST?

ST5 next, then dodge @76 and block @ 176.

and then a death right after 176 on a gfi...regen fails

Nope AG5 MUST die on a failed dodge. ;)

Wrestle, tackle, leap

8458 blodge is a pretty slick player without worrying about 100spp down the road.

Heck you still need to get 76 for any of it to matter :)

It would be hard to pass up another +ST, but I would take block/dodge over any other skills no matter the rolls.

Then, should you get to legend, tackle or sure hands depending on what kind of shape the rest of the team is in at that point.

I'd go block first on +ST... especially when he needs so little help dodging.

Leap > +MA
Juggernaut on a double
The boring people would say block/dodge/leap.

I'd say dodge,leap,sure hands.

I actually agree that there is a stronger case for getting Block first now that she's got +ST. Previously, with ST3 AG5, the use for her was strictly ball carrying and dodging on offence and dodging and picking up the ball on defence. Having dodge is both for protection and to preserve re-rolls, as even 2+ dodges fail now and then. With her dodging more than blocking and blitzing it would have been more useful to take dodge before block.

With ST4 AG5, her usability has increased. With MA8 and ST4 she's perfect for blitzing.

'Fortunately' I probably have a couple more games before I have to make the decision on what skill to get first.

awesome! get another +St and 2x +Ma and you have the coolest player ever :D

Yeh I´d go with +ST and +MA, +MA too If I were you.
But if you should hit a streak of unluckiness... Go with Block first, no reason for Leap I´d say. Dodge beats that anyway in my book - AG 5 dodges in 1 TZ on a 2+ anyway - and is with a built in RR.
Surehands is a waste the way I see it - leave a Ghoul for that - instead go with SS for that last skill. It´s much more valuable on all parameters (offense, defense and survivability).

Well thanks to the ogres, who not only managed a draw against my contender for the first place in the division, but also severely damaged my next opponent, I've got a good chance of promotion.

Some solid mvp rolls too. Only one zombie!
