Pipe Smokers of the Year are a team in the White Isle League.

The Pipe Smoker of the Year Award ran from 1964-2003 when it was sadly banned due to the restrictions imposed on the advertisement of tobacco related products. The team captain is Harold Wilson, only man to be voted Pipe Smoker of the Year on two occasions and also the only man to be voted Pipeman of the Decade throughout the entire history of the award. These guys all have chesty coughs and bad breath but boy do they love to play the Blood Bowl.

13/01/07 - After a disappointing first season, that bizarrely still ended up in promotion (the Pipe Smoking Association of Albion, new White Isle League sponsers, claim they have nothing to do with this suspicious happening) the Pipe Smokers chart up their first victory in a 1-0 friendly victory over Nashwan Deluxe. Pipe Smokers all over Albion light up in celebration.

23/04/07 - After the 4-1 loss to the Sewer Thieves' Society team captain Harold Wilson decides that his Blood Bowl playing days are over and retires. He has decided to spend more time smoking pipes and less time fannying around with balls. Jethro joins the team in his place and with the retirement of Willie John McBride and Patrick Moore on the same day it looks like either the beginning of the end for the Smokers or, indeed, a new beginning for the whole team.

11/08/07 - 4 games into season 6 and the luck of the Smoker's seems to have changed. They are riding high in the Albany Regional Division with a 3 Point lead over Chewie's Cohorts. Much of this change of form is attributed to new team captain Magnus Magnusson. At this point in the season a return to the expanding conferences looks on that cards. Will their performance in the middle tear surpass their previous efforts? Well, it would be hard not to really.
