| Of the team's first fifteen skill rolls, half have been non-standard: two +str and five doubles. While these special skills are great and will help the team one day, at the moment the team's development has been stunted by lack of basic skills like block/dodge. I'm sure once we start to pick up a few more of those types of skills, the team will begin to make progress. But until then, we'll probably continue our current losing streak. What kind of elves are these guys? Beating a khemri team, then losing to all others? Unable to make two dodges in a row, yet getting just pasted in terms of cas suffered? Something's gotta give... ******************************************************************************* After winning our third in a row, I think something has indeed given. This team seems destined for greatness, so long as our amazing streak of good fortune can continue. But you know what they say, even the best wood elf team is only one bad game away from retirement... ******************************************************************************* Our eleventh game turned out to be a statement game for our squad. A nasty chaos dwarf team dubbing themselves the <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=78675">Moria Miners</a> invaded our home turf, believing us to be their next victims. See, they were members of the <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=group&op=view&group=1628">E.M.U. (Elf Mangling Union)</a> and had brought much woe, misery and destruction to multiple elven teams in the wake of their march. In fact, they were the #2 most damaging EMU team to the elven nation. I use past-tense on purpose, for they came, they saw, but WE conquered! Easily winning 3-1, we out-cas'd the very surprised CD team 4 cas to their 1, and this without fouls! Imagine the damage had we sunk to their level! Their coach walked dejectedly away from our ivy dome, face in hands, retiring from this sport for having been so abused by pansy elves. So listen up, any EMU fools who want to come into our home to pick a fight! Just turn around now and walk away, go find a "softer" target to pick on. We beat a khemri team; we forced a cd team to retire; don't tempt us to see what we do to your team! ******************************************************************************* "Wood elves are never more than one bad game away from retirement." In this case it was actually a three game span with one bad final game, but the point is still the same... At our peak, we had 6 guarding line-elves, soon all to be blodging, one str 4. Future's never been brighter. But then in just a few games, two of our guards die on the pitch (including the str 4 one); one more guard niggles on the pitch (apo fails on all three blows, of course); two guards age a niggle and the final guard ages -str. Our once powerful group of line-elves is but a pale shadow of itself, and the team could be in serious trouble. For now, we'll gut it out another few games, but if those niggles start to flare up, the team's toast. Our fans are way too fickle to ever actually show up to games and give us money for replacements. We're just scratching our heads and wondering what happened to our dream of becoming the strongest woodelf team in all of fumbbl... Oh, and the killer thing to remember, although the team regularly plays "bashy" races, all these losses have come at the hands of high elves and dark elves.
