From the deep forests of the Wyld Hearth right outside of the lands of the wood elves, if you're lucky, you MIGHT spot one of the Zoats skillfully plodding along. Typically the Zoats don't really like to associate with anyone outside of their tribe except for the occasional wood elf trader. It's not hate or fear - more of an apathy to the outside world that's never changed. Typically they get left alone and enjoy the solitude as they wield their magic and commune with nature.

All of the however changed one day when an uppity Elven prince by the name of Sirhc Noslen decided it was time to expand his kingdom into the thick dark forests of the Wild Hearth. Rather accidentally, they came across the hidden sanctuary of the Zoats.

Startled by the sudden invasion of the elven laborers, the Zoats erupted from their peaceful nonchalant selves into a fearsome force of magic and brutal muscle power. Led by their Shaman Chief Thudos, they thundered through the unsuspecting groups of wood elf settlers and began a 3 week slaughter; cutting down man, woman, and child alike. Thudos in particular wielded the Never-Ending Glove - a destructive magical device powered by the rage of all currently living bears that can change time, space, and reality.

Prince Noslen arrived with a large wood elf trained army and the tide of battle turned. Thudos and the Zoats could hold their own. But mainly exercised hit and run tactics. The Zoats wore down the Prince into negotiating. Speaking through a magical toad, Thudos and the Prince were able to come to an understanding that the conflict began from confusion. The wood elves were happy to leave their part of the forest alone (and only visit on occasion) provided the Zoats agreed to make themselves a little more visible in order to avoid this kind of misunderstanding from happening in the future.

Thudos agreed to form a team of players for whatever they were calling "bloodbowl" at the time. He didn't know what it was. But it ensured the Zoats safety and lands. Thus, the Wyld Hearth Zoats were conceived. None of them really knows how to play, or what a ball is. Don't expect anything from them as pickup up the ball will be a miracle unto itself. But it'll be fun!
