I can't Upload anything!!!!
It is driving me crazy!!!!
No matter how small I make the files, it always says "The file can not be over 10240 byte."
Can anybody help me out?
I could send a pic you someone else so they could check to see if I'm doing something wrong.
Any help would be appreciated. |

Have you really checked that the file is not exceeding the limit? |

just right-click the picture, select properties and it tells you how large the pic is. |

I've knocked some down as low a 4K, same thing happens everytime.
If someone thinks they can help me, send me an e-mail address and I will send you a couple of pics. Then maybe you can tell me what's wrong. |

Make sure you save them as .jpg's and not .bmp's or something, will help with the size. |

The "physical" dimensions matter as well. If it's a low-quality pick, but wouldn't fit in a player profile, it might generate the "too big" error..... If that makes any sense. |

I've run into this same problem before where the upload will see the pic as being it's old size when you use the "save" option. Usually when using the "paint" program that comes with windows to alter my images.
Try using "save as" and giving the pic a different name. Also, switching format from .jpg to .gif can often shave some size off the file (and also give you a new target to upload). |

I have player pics and team picks.
Some are .jpgs some are .gifs.
all are between 4-8k.
Player pics are exact dimensions.
BloodBasher Masher,
how do you link player or team picks to Fumbll.com. |

1) I use Safari on my mac.
2) I made them in Photoshop. I just open one up in a different program and saved it as a .jpg out of that program. Started as 8K, New one was 8K...same thing happened. |

Ah, sorry. Didn't realize you were a highly evolved being. My mistake.
I just tried it and it seems to be a bug in Safari. I was working with Christer to try to get Safari working a while back and he never did figure it out, at that time. For some reason (if I remember this correctly), the file isn't actually uploading, so the file size is a null value, which spits out the incorrect error message.
Firefox for mac works (just double-checked that right now), however, so the first link is still potentially useful. Given the occasional wierdness of Safari with a few scripting tricks, it might not hurt to have an additional browser loaded on your machine anyway. While I haven't had an issue, supposedly some banking/retail stuff chokes under Safari, too.
Just a thought. For now, I don't believe there is a solution using Safari. |

Yeah, sorry that I didn't realize earlier before you spent all that time tweaking the images.
The best thing you can do is try to catch Christer in #fumbbladmin and help him test it out. He doesn't have a machine that can run Safari, so he's sort of stuck. |
