Nice work Pac, looks good.
I am trying to develop a Rats team at the moment and it's interesting to see the Rat coaches seem to take Diving Tackle (After Block/SS) instead of Sure Hands, which was the route I had looked at for the Gutter Runners. |

'Flings are up, and Dwarves (the latter not exactly being rocket science …). |

Tbh: a personal criterium of the poster is more than enough. I sometimes cherrypick and sometimes I don't. And I believe this holds true for EVERY team of EVERY coach in EVERY division.
ps: my long time noDP policy is partially responsible for my less than 55% win percentage, methink.... My last 25 games have a record of 17/1/7
I think this is Pac's thing and you should really follow your heart pac. I have quite an established route for positionals that I'll list here anyway (if it's interesting to anyone, that is):
1- Always take stat increases
2-
Thrower: accurate - safethrow - block - tackle
doubles: strong arm - dodge
Blitzer: guard - tackle - mightyblow - shadowing
doubles: standfirm - dodge
catcher: block - sidestep - divingtackle - passblock
doubles: dauntless - guard
Ogre: guard - multipleblock - breaktackle - pilingon
doubles: Block - Pro (or Standifirm, never reached second double for a BG)
lineman: block - tackle - kick (if I don't have it) - dirtyplayer (if I don't have it)
doubles: guard - dodge
This doesn't change, no matter what skill increases I get. An ST3 catcher would get dauntless and not guard first double, and an ST4 blitzer would get Tackle before Mightyblow.
The only change I can think of is a +AG thrower rolling a double. That would probably be Dodge BEFORE strongarm. |

Pac, for some races (Vamps and maybe the stunties and Ogre teams) you may need to wave the 55-70% rule. Just a thought though.
Edit: After looking at the Vamps page I can see that is correct
Edit: And Halflings too!
Edit: I just finished Ogres, none qualify |

Nope only time I pick is that I don't play back-to-back games against dwarves with my no tree flings. Lots of teams that will play anything!
On the otherhand, I AM insane...... |

Well, there's one team for Vamps and one team for Halflings. I'll decide what to do with Ogres (Goblins?) when I get to them.
Probably, the percent 'window' should be adjusted for every roster based on that roster's average win% from the Race stats page. I'll have a think about that … |

Great link!
My only criticism is about trolls.
I've "only" played nearing a hundred games with trolls, and will be taking Pro with any and all trolls I ever play before I think of taking block.
I understand that many people have played many more games with them, but as many times as I get knocked down by POW/SKULL, I find that I get hit with Really Stupid/Always Hungry/GFI/TTM more.
Plus you can reroll your own blocks anyway with Pro as well.
Just think it's worth a mention as it's gotta be one of the best skills for those Big Guys.
Esp. Really Stupid ones. |

Interesting opinion.
But wrong.
Take Block first.
Edit: Okay, you want to know why?
Well, first of all, the function of a Troll is not to take actions. It's to soak up hits. Pro is no use at all when you're being blocked.
Secondly, Pro does not make a Big Guy reliable. It only fools you into thinking the player is reliable. More often that not, if you fail before the Pro roll, you will still have failed after it.
Thirdly: trust the experienced coaches surveyed. |

Fine it...it just may help my win percentage though not likely!
(Not that I have ever rolled doubles on a big guy....*sigh*) |

For Trolls on Goblin teams (who DO take crucial actions such as TTMs),
Pro is debatably better than Block.
Same with Trees on Fling teams. |

Possibly … But no decent Stunty team relies on TTM to win. And they still rely on their Big Guys to take their lumps. I will be sticking with Block. |

Even in that instance, Pass would be better than Pro |

Not for Big Guys who have to both block and TTM
(and pass Really Stupid/Take Root rolls). |
