While waiting for the main tournament draw, we can make some observations.
10/16 Teams are some variety of Elf, making this a relatively bashless tourney.
Average TR/TS is 269/238.
Teams with higher TR will give out more handicaps on average,
and those with higher TS are expected to win more games.
Three TS powerhouses stand out from the crowd.
Borgen's Blood Red Dragons (Dark 320/282) is a regular Major tournament contender.
They are expected to do well here.
Them Obvious Megastars (Dark 326/279) is loaded with +AG.
Dalibor tends to make it into the Major tourneys regularly.
With an assortment of extreme-TR/TS teams to choose from,
he stands ready to enter any Major at any time.
malitrius has his Nobel Laureates (Pro 371/307).
An impressively high development for AV 7 Pro Elves,
they have a decent record against bashy teams.
However, their win record against other types of Elves is fairly weak.
Combined with the abundance of other types of Elves in the final 16,
the near future looks grim for the Laureates.
Stay tuned! The draw is nigh! |

Let's spotlight some of the other Upper Middleweight Elves...
Reventlov's Ulthan Nobles (High 319/267) are a very experienced team.
With 4 Guard and 2 Dauntless they can add Humans and Orcs to the regular Elfy diet.
Dauntless might be overrated in a tourney full of Elves though.
Interestingly enough they have a Sprinting One Turn Scorer.
Falcone's Woodburns E.L.F (Wood 284/253) looks very similar.
Also with 4 Guard and 2 Dauntless but with a handy Block Treeman as one of the Guards.
No one-turners here but they have a nice roster that is relatively full and uninjured for high TR Wood Elves.
TheCount's Higgis Haubencenter (Wood 259/247) is one of the teams still rebuilding before the draw,
having just won a scrimmage match against Tholgorond Swordspiders.
The roster is not as developed as the others at the moment,
with the most SPP sitting on one lineman with 5 normal skills.
They have a good win record but the current roster troubles and lack of cash give them tough odds. |

I say Borgen.
He kicked me out of the qualifier, so he must be the best. |

TheCount seems to have trouble getting his team in order. I really doubt I can peak my elves more before the draw. |

Hehe malitrius you re right. Got a really bad streak of permanent injuries, low cash and ageings on keyplayers, but now i^m going to come back. Only 3 players of the Malthor-beating-Team are still there. The rest of the team died or got fired
To the vote: I voted for Dalibor. Not my style-favorite (then i would take Topper *g*) but he^s a good coach with a very good team and imho with the little bit of luck you need to win something big like this major.
On the other side i have to respect gunslinger for his necromantic team in the maindraw. Good luck and a lot of chainsaws for all! |

Very close, very close. I voted for Dalibor (after destroying me in the quali final, I have no doubt he has what it takes). Other candidates are Borgen, and also Fejd and Flix if they can build up their teams a bit more. Personally, I'd like some deads or hummies to win it. Where are all the Orc and Chaos teams? |
