Reete...
Here's the situation, I have a tournament on sunday. 1,000,000GP, and after every game ONE player gets an upgrade (from the usual normal roll) and each player can only be upgraded once. 4 Games in one day, 2 minute turns :S.
Recently I've been in a league then cup, came 2nd in cup n 1st in league so used to upgraded teams.
The team I'm thinking of taking is (orcs by the way):
4 Black Orcs
4 Blitzers
1 Thrower
1 Lineman
1 Gobbo
3 Re-rolls
2 FF
That's it.
So what you think of the team (can change it for more orcs etc.) and what upgrades do you think?
Cheers guys! |

Team? I'd either drop a Bob or a RR to avoid having a gobbo in yr starting 11. Replace it w/ another thrower.
After Game 1 (assuming only normal skills): DP on line Orc.
After Game 2: GD on Blitzer
After Game 3: Maybe Strip ball (depends on whether the next game is vs blodgers) |

I took orcs to the Blood Bowl this year and did pretty well.
My starting line up was:
4 blitzers = 320k
3 BoBs = 240k
Troll = 110k
Thrower = 70k
Gobbo = 40k
2 linos = 100k
2 RRs = 120k
My rationale was that I could take leader first skill on the thrower for the third RR, and I wanted 12 guys cos outnumbered orcs are bad news. The gobbo was a must for the last ditch TTM option (which won me a game!)
Skills were: leader, MB, guard, tackle, tackle(only cos I knew I had zons in my last game - would have been guard otherwise).
Have fun! And remember that you are slow and do not forget to leave a safety. |

This is weird. I was reading a thread about Blood Bowl teams and all of a sudden I see this yellow worm claiming that Jesus Rules. |

O btw if it helps, my normal set up is:
B0 = Black Orc
Bl = Blitzer
T = Thrower
G = Gobbo
L = Lineman
- = Blank
| = Side zone
- L Bl - | - BO Bl BO Bl BO - | Bl BO
With Goblin one behind the left Black orc and one to the left. The thrower one over halfway toward my endzone in the centre.
Watcha think? |

I went too klingencon a few weeks ago, and I won with my orcs (1st place , 20 players).
Of course I got lucky a few times, but without luck you wont win.
This was my set up:
4x Black Orc
4x Orc Blitzer
1x Lineman
1x Troll
1x Goblin
1x Ass Coach
My skill choices were:
1st skill : Blitzer - Tackle
second skill : Blitzer - Frenzy
3th skill : BOB Guard
4th skill : BOB Guard
5th Skill : Blitzer Tackle (like Pete W said, I also knew i had zons in my next game or I would have gone for guard)
6th skill : BOB Guard
played vs : Skavens, Undead, Orcs, Amazons, Khemri, Nurgle Rotters. (I made a draw vs the skavens and the rotters... wich was pretty ironic cause the rotters ended up last place)
After that I went into another tourney, same set up, and ended up 6th from 20 players.
I think I would go for:
4x BOB
4x Blitzer
1x Thrower
1x Troll
2x Reroll
1x Ass Coach
And use the same skills like I did on the kingencon. Tackle, Frenzy, and lots of guard.
Hope this helps you.

There's a key above it, it's my usual set up. I don't like the troll to be honest with you, too risky. I only get 3 upgrades across the day so which three would you recomend? Thanks for all your help guys! |

Yeah fucked that one up...
I forgot to write down the lineman, if you counted it out you should have seen my mistake.
First skill : Tackle Blitzer
second skill : Leader on thrower
Last skill : Guard on BOB
I still beleve Trolls are a good buy.
ST 5 , AV 9 , Regen ... not to mention MB
Okay they are stupid, but considering orcs play really close to eachother (caging and stuff) the troll will get help enough.
Keep Blitzers in the back (at least 2) to have a safety when something goes wrong.
Dont pack the first line too much, perfect defence or blitz can really hurt in that scenario.
L= Lineman
T= Troll
B= BOB
X= Blitzer
defence:
----|--LTB--|----
----|-------|----
-B--|B-----X|--B-
----|-------|----
-T--|X-----X|--X-
Offence (depends on what the opponent puts on the line... try to bash everything). Put some players in the back to keep savety, and put your thrower and 1 blitzer in the middle of the board to run for the ball.
----|-BXTLB-|----
----|-X---X-|----
--B-|-------|-B--
----|-------|----
----|-------|----
----|---X---|----
----|---T---|----
etc...
Anyway, your thrower can go for the pick up, The blitzer in the back can protect him.
2 BOBs keepking the side line packed, and a pretty good line of scrimage.
Block with "block" as much as possible. And try to make 3d with the troll everytime you can.
Don't move up to quick, if the ball carier aint with you yet.
Keep a cage, but protect the corners as much as possible holding you set up wide. (so that you arent easilly flanked.
At least that is all the stuff in theory that I try to put into practice. |
