But HMP scatters 3 times before you see the Field it actually lands in, so you would need at least 3 Diving-Catchers to assure you'll get the pass ! |

But Diving Catch will only work for the one catcher you are targetting. No, it's by no means assured that you'll get anything but chucking a Hail Mary to a Diving Catcher does give you a good chance (too lazy to find the numbers) of ending up with the ball (or at least putting it somewhere close to the endzone to be snagged and run in next turn).
It's still 2 skills on 2 players that could very possibly be better spent... but it's an option. Very fun on stunties since it bypasses the extra range modifier. Just think of how handy a C-Fling or Nurgling with Big Hand and HMP would be. |

Diving catch has nothing to do with targeting a player.
If it is an inaccurate pass and it scatters next to a DC player, they get a chance.
IMHO-Only reason to have it is if you have HMP and only reason to have HMP is if you don't have a thrower for your team and no good agilities. Unless it's a theme team... an all zombie team or some other crazyness . |

Quote: | Diving Catch (Agility Skill)
The player may use this skill if the ball was thrown to him and
missed. It allows the player to move one square after the ball
has scattered. This move is made after the ball has scattered,
but before it hits the ground or can be caught. No Dodge roll is
required to make this move. If the move takes the player into the
square that the ball is in then he is allowed to try and catch it.
Although a player using a Diving Catch ends up on the ground
for a moment, because this is a controlled fall he will not be
injured and he will almost instantly regain his feet. Therefore the
player is not knocked over when he uses the skill. |

Cool, wonder if I'm stuck in old rules or if our group always misplayed it.
Thanks |
