was playing a game using 5.9 as server- client using 6.0
game crashed
tried to retrieve save, but we can communicate but not see players or game.
so i downloaded 6.0, and tried again, 6.0 launches and we can communicate, but still no players or game and now the pitch is blue.
we cannot end turns or even concede
HELP....... |

of course its helpful, thats why the topic in irc always list the client you should be using, and when ever a new version comes out, its posted as news. Mark it as live and learn. |

not to mention, the client tells you at the beginning of a game if you're using two different versions. oh well, could be worse. i managed to play an entire game w/ my CFlings, and i finally was able to not only win, but accrue some serious spps. unfortunately, i didnt realize the regular fling team i was playing was in OPEN...

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Never, never, never play games with mismatched versions. Wierd things can happen, the game can become unplayable, and even if all goes well it's possible that the results files won't match and will not be uploadable. It only takes a couple of minutes to update the client, just be sure to stop the game and do it if it tells you your versions don't match. That is why the warning is there. |
