Since pro's a skill now thats pretty pointless.
The winner therefore is....Block!!!
If I ever meet Jervis, I'm going to spank him like a monkey. |

Oh yeah...
Doh.
Oh well I'd still take block. Its the better skill and I'm defying the evil administration by taking a skill they seem to think is overpowered

Trees can't get frenzy after the RR, because it's a general trait and they don't have general skill access. |

I'd take the +ma. better for standing up, better blitz/move range, and if you take root, easier for your opponent to knock you down and unroot you.
and for the record, I totally agree with inquisitorpus. there aren't even enough strength skills for a Big guy to take during his career...a flaw in this rule change that BBRC have no excuse overseeing...especially since they fancy themselves expert enough to be some sort of bloodbowl authority.
inq,
let's name as many goblins we can as "Jervis Johnson" and see how many times we can get our troll to eat him dead dead dead! |

Duh... brainfart on my part.
If I understand the on-pitch take root correctly, it might be a good idea to take pro, since you don't want the tree immobilized for the drive.
Really though, you can't go wrong with any of the choices. Sure feet is another decent possibility: turn your MV 2 log into a MV 4 blitzer.

I gotta side with the +ma here, allow him to stand up at will. Since there are so few strength skills to gain, and one of them is piling on, that would otherwise be a completely wasted skill on a tree. After all, who is gonna have their mv 2 tree willingly fall down on a player for a CHANCE at a cas, risking never getting back up the rest of the drive? Take the +ma, and it becomes viable to drop once in a while. Besides, it only takes 1 assist for a tree to get a 3d block on a str 3 player; block isn't an immediate necessity for trees as much as other BG's in that regard, as you'll usually have greater chances of pushes/POWs.
I always thought frenzy was a strength trait, as it seems devoted to violence, like mb and po. Guess not, and guess I'll never again have another ogre the likes of Allanon. Now THAT was an ogre to fear... |

Well, JJ as we like to call him, did actually invent the game, so it kinda gives him the expertise to change the rules, if and when the bbrc feels there's a need to do so. And if I'm right, the changes were tested by actual players before implementing them, so even you might have had the chance to give your two cents before whining about it here.

"Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker,
to him who is but a potsherd among the potsherds on the ground.
Does the clay say to the potter,
'What are you making?'
Does your work say,
'He has no hands'? |

Anyway Big guys deserve nerfing. They should be a fun and risky add-on for some teams. Not a necessary givin for everyone who can take them.
Next thing is getting them removed from some roosters, CD and WE for starters.
(and in the long run for everyone except stuntys. Yesss. Yesss. Thatsss the sssecret plansss. Hahahahhahaha) |
