Hey everyone! I am in the process of creating a Warhammerers style Dwarf team for the box and am now starting "Warhammerers Juniors" in Stunty.
Now, Ideally I want as many Mad Bommaz in the starting lineup as possible but apart from that I am pretty open for what to have. A Cannon and Daredevil would be handy too.
How would you suggest starting a Gnome roster? |

Never take a Cannon? Why is that?
Just curious. |

The cannons are only the same price as a lino, so considering the fluff, I'd say take both of them, plus all the positionals, and 3 rerolls. Use both of the Squig Slayers and a Runner as the 3 Blitzers, use the other Runner as the Thrower, then have all the bombs and cannons for genuine Warhammerers style illegal dwarvish contraption plays. |

I would go for
2 Cannons 100
2 Squig Slayers 180
2 Bombers 120
1 Daredevil 60
5 Gnomes 250
4 Rerolls 240
Apothecary 50
Your ideal drive should be an 8 turn grind, and a score with a Bomber.
Never field more than 2 Bombers, and (apart from the initial roster) never buy a new Bomber until you have at least 1 skill on all the other Bombers.
Get one Hail Mary Pass, and plant him backfield. On offense, after turn 3 (when your players are enmeshed with the defense, and you can't safely bomb) use him to grab the ball and be ready to lob it across the pitch.
I've grown to be very skeptical of Daredevils, because they're so fragile and you don't really want them to soak up SPP anyway. I only use them for TTM or as a last resort when I have 2 turns to score. |

Thanks mate!
Judging by that Gnome team you got, you have plenty of experience with them! |

Gnomes easily suffer from positional overload. But that's not too bad. I like having 1 cannon for an OTTD long shot.

I rather enjoy mine, but having 2 of them with AG4 means I'm kind of spoiled. =)
Diving catch is a pretty good skill in [S], because of how it counters bombers. And having a single player with AG3 and MA5 (+ sprint) is quite helpful. Sure, you could duke it out with your other guys, same as an all blocker dorf team could work, but I think they have their place, and grant you some much needed flexibility. |
