The owners have come upp with a new strategy for the boys for this year. Steroids! Loads and loads of it. Been traveling all over the old world to find the most potent mixes. Never in the the long history of the team have we had such a huge amount of pumped upp freaks. Time to hunt some rats! The boys are ready!

Well last year at 204 teams the bottom team were not much higher at 1020 tv, with about twenty teams total at sub 1500
So yeah, maybe not rookie goblins, but unless there has been a major sea-change lower tv teams will not have a problem |

Well he does not want to feel like he is "cheesing" the WO by bringing these guys.
Tier 1 major teams suck

Altdorf Book and Casino Pickers Challenge
Official Rules
It is time once again all you "pickers" out there to show everyone that you are best. So good in fact, other coaches should call your "hot line" to get the picks and you will only charge 2 Gold Crown per minute whille they are on the line.
Format
There will be 13 groups of 16 teams in this years Warpstone Open, thus 4 rounds in each group of qualification action.
Your challenge is to pick the winner of each of the Qualifier Groups. So, you will make 13 picks, one for each group and you will also get 3 "wild card" picks, so 16 picks in total.
Got it? good. If not, reread what was just said.
Scoring points
Here is how the scoring will work for qualification.
If your pick wins:
1 match: 2 points
2 matches: 4 points
3 matches: 6 points
4 matches: 8 points
Win 3 matches and lose 1: 7 points (What? this is if your pick gets defeated in the Qualifier final)
Now, with all "pickers challenge" some coaches are not aware of what da hell is going on. So coaches who arrive in Round #2 or Round #3 of the Warpstone Open can still submit a card BUT the scoring for them will be determined by the Round they jump in. So, a coach who submits a card in round 2 will only get 6 pts if they pick a Qualifer final team. So, they will not get the full amount of points for arriving late.
I will keep track of all the "pickers cards", updating by round. Thus we can see how all the pickers are doing by round, with scoring updates.
Now, of course, we will have some speculation bets.
Speculation Bets
Round #3 (semi finals): How many of the 26 matches in the semi final round will go into OverTime. Your pick will have a variance of +/- of 2. So if you pick 10, that means you have 8-12 matches will go into OverTime. This pick is worth 6 points.
Round #4 (Finals): How many Total CAS will be inflicted in the 13 matches? Your pick with have a variance of +/- 5. So if you pick 26 CAS, that means you have 21-31 total CAS. This pick is worth 6 points.
Got it? Good.
Bottom Line for all you TLDNR guys
Pick one team in each qualifer group who you think will win.
Pick 3 teams who are your "wild cards" who might just pull it out.
Pick the Speculation bet for the Semi Final round and the Final round.
Fill in the entry card, post it and get in the "PICKERS CHALLENGE".
I will handle all the rest.
Good luck, you will need it.
** Side Note**
This is the easiest of all "Picker Challenges". All you need to do is fill in the blanks and sit back and see what happens. It is one big crap shoot in the qualification round. Thus you do not need to be "active" and making picks each and every round.
Just fill in the blanks on who you will think will win the groups and sit back and enjoy the action of the Warpstone Open. |

Do I have to place my speculagion bet when the tourney kicks off or may I actually wait and see who will play in the semis and finals until I place my bet?
How is the wild card picks working? How do I spot wild cards? |

#1 You must place your speculation bets when you submit the card, it is a crap shoot based on your experience guided by wisdom.
#2 The wild card teams can be any team you have not already picked.
Wild Card teams will most likely look like this.
Qualifier #1 has two of the top teams in the WO. So you pick one of them to win the group and then pick the other one as a wild card team because you think both of them are top teams.
Now, here is the problem.
IF you are looking to maximize total points
You want to pick your wild card team on the other side of the bracket of the team you picked to win the qualifier. So, in the example above one of the teams is in the top half and the other team is in the lower half. You are looking for both teams to meet in the finals and get 15 pts out of that qualifier group.
IF you are looking to make sure you get a team to the finals round
Then using the same example above. You want both those top teams to be in the same side of the bracket. You pick both, even though you know one of them will knock out the other one BUT you are giving your self the best shot to get a team into the finals.
Once the draw is made tonight and we see the brackets. There will be 3-5 of the qualifiers where there will be 2-3 teams in those qualifiers that you think has a legit shot at winning the group. Thus, the idea of wild card teams. |

Up to 238. Cutoff appears to be in the 150-160 range. Don't hold me to that. A lot can still happen. |
