Edit: And is more likely to injure whoever failed it than a normal leap. |
That's because on a 3+ leap, the player expects to fail it, so they subconsciously brace themself for the impact. However, on a 2+ leap, they expect to succeed (and nearly do) and so the impact catches them in an awkward position, with all their weight in the wrong place. |

If you're a masochist. Finding matches via the unfinished games list........sends chills down my spine. Good riddance, miss the coach log reports though |

That's just another form of OCD; a vain attempt to control the bloodstains. What you really wind up with is a slightly denser bloodstain. That will never wash out. Ever. |

I thought that was a proven scientific principle more than mere superstition (an application for Government funding would get oodles of the filthy lucre immediately).
That principle, when applied to Chaos, appears as:
* KHORNE themed teams always call "Heads" ("BFTBG!");
* Tzeentch doesn't need caps, and is also a Heads case;
* Nurgle/ Rotter teams are better off going tails (do not ask why); and
* Slaanesh swings either way, baby!
(Fence sitting Chaos Undecided types will be treated with the utter disdain that their lack of faith deserves and are herewith ignored.) |

I was working on a reply to the thread about empathy & understanding, then I realized what I was going to say was rooted in bare superstition, so I'm posting it here instead.
"Don't acknowledge your opponent's bad luck until he complains about it. Bringing up the other guy's dice first jinxes you."
Corollaries: don't expect your opponent to acknowledge your bad dice unless a) you complain first, or b) you keep a stiff upper lip through the whole game. Also, if you want to see the dice swing, you can comment on it. "KO central today" either means you're gonna stop breaking armor, or you'll finally get a Casualty. Or not. It's just a superstition.
Exceptions: you can say something about perms and kills (except in league games), and you can say whatever you like when the game is over. You can also say something about your good luck, that's different. |
