The Mystical Musical Elves of calling themselves Manifest Destiny's Child search the Old World to prove their merit. In this, the Season of the Trumpet, they have encountered these groups:
Norse, who defeated them 1-0. The Norse had incredible luck the first half and the beginning of the second half, while the normally nimble Prince Roger of Daltrey tripped and fell or failed to pick up a loose ball no less than five times during the game, a large reason for their defeat. They suffered no casualties, but inflicted only one, for a game score of 8.
Chaos, who defeated them 3-0. The Elves were horribly outplayed, throwing more incomplete passes than complete ones, unable to move themselves into useful positions on the pitch, and generally not playing like elves are supposed to play. Perhaps too many extracurricular activities after the preceeding night's concert dimmed their talents. They were at least nimble enough to avoid serious injury, as no casualties were had in the game. The final game score is a 4.
Ogres, who they defeated 2-0. The elves played well, displaying their exemplary passing skills and a bit of a mean streak as well. The mighty musicians killed their opponent's best player, an extremely agile goblin. One additional casualty was recorded, balancing the two casualties they suffered, for a game score of 34. |

Woodburn Vs the World match page. As we prove Wood Elf superiority over the unwashed hordes.
(O)First Up the Grin skinz orc team 3-1 victory. The woodies got out to a 3-0 lead at the half due to some great ball handling and passing. Then the second half fouling display by the orcs occured. Every turn except turn 8 they fouled fortunately only two bh's occurred and a few ko's. They kept fouling so much they seemed to almost forget to score which they did on turn eight. All in all with the exception of one si to a lineman paltry 40000 winnings everthing went ok.
3-1 no cas caused 1-0-0 34 pts

(K)The next game was against the Yummy Yummy khemri team. The game started out nasty with my dancer almost getting knocked over by a skeleton. My catcher then broke into the clear for a almost sure td then arrogantly tried to hand the ball to the wardancer who promptely dropped the ball and after a first half scrum no one scored. The catcher was then killed by a skeleton. For almost the entire second half I had only 3 or 4 elves on the field and the khemri ambled down the field for a td. Still with some turns left there was hope until my dancer was tripped up by a skeleton trying to score thus ending a horrifieing game for the woodies. At least my opponent wasnt a fouler which I appreciated. Before the next E.L.F. match this team is gonna need many recovery matches after being whittled down to 8 players.
0-1 no casaulties caused 1-0-1 8 points for this match.

(H)Next the Covert Ops human team. Another blood bath at least we bh'ed two humans but yet again another elven death. Woodies very rarely recover in recovery matchs. Will continue soldiering on though.
1-3 2 badly hurts caused 1-0-2 6 points for this match.

Imperial Mincers:
2005-03-21 21:05:30 A 3-0 win versus Orcs Cas 0/1/0 to 2/0/0
The Imperial Mincers came out of this game in good shape. Kick came in very useful twice preventing the ball finding what could have been an impressive cage. 1st half get the ref was admirably/thankfully ignored by Necro_666. A misled and slightly immoral lion warrior niggled a talented orc thrower.
2005-03-29 17:56:32 A 1-1 draw versus Chaos Dwarf Cas 0/0/0 to 1/1/1
A very odd game, made a hash of the first half, ended up a bit messy, had a good chance in 2nd turn for a td but fumbled twice on the pass, then much mess later in the eighth turn needed 2*gfi to score and probably the same immoral lion warrior got what was coming to him and broke his ribs over the line. I got a quick td in the first half after a surehands hobgoblin made himself look stupid and then thought i'd done enough but a 7th turn switch from the cage made me look stupid. Good game though.
2005-03-30 00:21:45 A 3-1 defeat inflicted by Skaven Cas 1/0/1 to 0/2/1
A really enjoyable game, could've been a draw at the end with some luckier dice, good opposition coach. He scored in the 8th turn in both halves, the first with a chain push, the second after i had gone all out for the equaliser. Something to work on the training ground. 3 of this sides 4 defeats have been by skaven paws.
2005-03-30 13:04:37 A 3-1 victory over Khemri Cas 1/2/1 to 0/0/0
I thought i was in for it here, a khemri side with an 8/2/1 record must be playing some pretty tight stuff. I think the opposition coach got despondant early on and stopped covering where he should have been. I wouldn't trust an ag2 player, sure hands or not to pick up the ball. As a result i was able to get round the back of a packed LOS and sneak two tds when kicking. He could've made my life much tougher, couple of MNGs to deal with though...
2005-03-31 16:37:39 A 2-2 draw versus Lizardmen Cas 0/1/0 to 1/0/0
2005-03-31 18:32:09 A 2-2 draw versus Chaos Cas 2/2/1 to 1/1/0
Two good games, but both required cliff-hanger oppostion last turn equalisers, but in fairness both were games i wouldn't have really deserved to win, would've been nice though.... I had a dragon warrior niggle at 16spp and he missed the next game, I'll keep him for the mean time.
2005-03-31 21:02:55 A 4-0 victory over Necromantics Cas 1/1/1 to 2/1/1
This guy had shocking luck with one werewolf out with a niggle and the other BH'd early on. I did have a dragon warrior run half the length of the pitch for a frivolous last turn blitz only for him to kill himself with a re-rolled skull against a flesh golem he was sure was a zombie when he set off on his run. The apoth thankfully saved our blushes.
2005-04-01 13:02:19 A 3-2 defeat by Amazons Cas 1/0/1 to 0/0/0
My st4 lineman managed to kill hims(illy)elf. Apart from that a really good game against Baby dollz(tm). I gave away quite a lot in terms of tr, and gave iron man to the wrong elf. Again i should have gone 1 up late in the 2nd half but got failed a hand off in open play that would have left a simple run in, and in the end paid the price.
2005-04-01 15:12:34 A dissappointing 2-1 defeat by Nurgle's rotters Cas 4/1/0 to 1/0/0.
Heavily out cas'd in this game and should really have done better. There aren't many Nurgle teams about though so...
2005-04-06 23:29:32 A comprehensive 6-0 win versus Dwarf Cas 0/0/0 to 1/0/0. This guy was unlucky in that he didn't cause the number of casualties he should have, but left me with far to many chances to have 2db blitzes against the ball carrier. He fouled without luck remorselessly and had 3 players sent off. I don't know if the IGMEOY thing passes him by? He didn't secure the ball when i was kicking to him setting up with only 1 dwarf backfield (all be it an AG4 blitzer) but that usually enabled the imperial mincers to apply enough pressure for some quick scores.
2005-04-08 20:46:17 A 3-1 victory over Humans Cas 0/0/0 to 1/2/0. A really good game versus Xavier's machine, much closer than 3-1, it was all set up for a late human score to take it to 2-2 but for a lucky blitz in turn 6 2nd half and an elvish runaway score. Got another niggle at 31spp though, not impressed!
2005-04-10 19:21:48 An triumphant 3-2 outing over
Undead Cas 1/0/0 to 1/2/2 My side had a little 'back and sides' trim courtesy of this undead side, intent on fouls and interceptions. The 3 interceptions held me to going into the second half 1-1 after recieving but then a couple of spotted fouls, fumbles and failed pickups at the back gifted me the game, which was nice... |
