Well it's time to recap on my season predictions and see where I ended up and how good I am at Crystal balling it.
Overall Prediction = 4th place (4-1-2)
Actual Position = 6th Place (3-0-4)
I almost got there , but failed to beat the fun police early in the season and failed to draw with the Chaos All Sorts at the end of the season. Maybe next season we can get over the milestone and win moer games than we lose.
Round 1 vs Hostile Kiddies IV - 1800TV Humans
Prediction 2-0 win
Reality 4-0 win
We won. We won emphatically and Suttbutt just had a bit (a lot) too much bad luck to be competitive. Glart had a stellar game taking out 2 of Suttbutts best players before finally being removed from the pitch at the end of the second half. The rest of the team also backed him up with some great blocking and caging throughout the game. This is the second time I have had a 4-0 victory against the Kiddies and I just don't know how I keep doing it.
Post edit this game also saw Dingo Dave get to 46SPP and tie Tetsuya Komuro for most SPP's held by an Underworld Goblin in the SWL.
Game 2 vs the SWL Fun Police - 2270TV Nurgle team
Prediction 2-1 win
Reality 0-2 loss
Too big, too strong, too fast. We didn't even stand a chance with both star players, Glart and Fezglitch, taken off the field in the first turn. The SWS tried and tried again but ultimately were unable to break free of the tentacles and overcome the disturbing presence of this disgustingly overpowering team. Well played Semitence, maybe next time I'll get that win.
Round 3 vs Colour of Money - 1420k Gobbos
Prediction absolute mayhem and a 2-1 win
Reality absolute mayhem and a 2-0 win
Mayhem doesn't begin to describe this game. Pjj had to pay for a bribe to keep one of his secret weapons on the field a bit longer, but it wasn't long enough to make a difference. I thought I was in for 2 TD's before the break but Pjj managed to sneak back and hold me out until the break. After the break the Colour of Money came out all guns blazing again but after a few bad dice rolls for Pjj I managed to pin his gobbos down and get the ball before working in for a second touch down.
Round 4 vs Fatality101 - 1160TV Chaos Dwarfs
Prediction 2-1 win
Reality 3-0 win
Fatality101 turned up to this game with a surprise in the shape of a mercenary minotaur to try and add a bit of extra grunt factor, but while they won the battle for throwing blocks they lost the all important TD war. The Scavs managed to score early and get a second TD from a turnover late in the second half and used their speed and general dodginess to avoid too many major injuries and score again in the second half.
Round 5 vs Macabre Morticians - 1570TV Undead
Prediction 1-2 Loss
Reality 0-2 Loss
The Morticians still had a team to play with and oh what a team it is. Tribal is a good coach that knows how and when to foul and how to position his players for maximum effect. The telling stat here is total number of turns played being just 97 turns from a total of 196, roughly translating to me only playing with 55% of a team for the whole game. As expected I was thoroughly out coached.
Round 6 vs Chaos All Sorts - 2020TV Chaos Pact
Prediction 1-1 draw
Reality 0-1 loss
Technically he only killed a star player, but the loss my Troll, Crocodile Chris, at the end of the first half effectively wrote off any chance of a draw or a win in this game and the next. We tried, we blocked, we fouled, we got lucky with a huge number of our blocks, but alas we could do nothing against the power of 3 developed big guys and a couple of killer marauders other than slow them down. I think we were lucky not to lose by more.
Round 7 vs Daemon Ex Tesserae - 1670TV Elves
Prediction 0-4 loss and lots of elf balling.
Reality 1-3 loss and lots of elf balling.
I still hate elves. They are still wear poncy hats and run around making miracle plays that no one else has a chance of making, but man are they squishy when you step on them. Bobs coached this team just as well as I thought he would and thoroughly cleaned up scoring touchdowns. Starting without my biggest asset (my tentacle troll) I don't think I ever really had a chance. With no way to pin down the elves or to chase high risk scoring with TTM I had to revert to fouling and trying to cage up the field with goblins. I am impressed that it worked once.
Good luck in Prem Bobs. Sorry about the thrower.
That about wraps up my season. Not as high flying as I had hoped mid way through, but you know what they say it's hard to soar like and eagle when you are shaped like a turkey. Bring on the Bob Borc Cup!!! |

Magnificent work and a tremendous fillip to the attraction of our SWL - as usual, Ramchop - BUT ..........
Unless directly applied to the team for which it was quite logically developed, we tend to think that the term "leapfrog" is somewhat speciest when used so completely out of context.
(Consider yourself toad!)

Hello.
I am personally wee bit surprised that High Elves are the only elves who havent won the title...
I think they are stronger roster than woodies or pros and only little bit weaker than Darkies.
I mean, linos are AV8, blitzers are handy and the catchers... well,4 of them with ST3 and MV8 (or thereabouts) are just superb and all these pieces are still AG4.
Am I missing something why they just dont seem to make it all the way...?
