Due to real life getting in the way, pjj & I have been unable to play Rnd 5. Consequently we would like to apply for a double forfeit.
Apologies to the admins for not letting you know sooner. |

Right, after a slightly delayed final round, with some late forfeits, and cheers for everyone who managed to get their games in this season, we have the finals up. Semi-finals due 7th, the final 14th, the Cas cup 21st, and we should be into the next season already by then.
Great to see most of you returning for more, we've got coaches lining up for the empty spots already, but feel free to put the word around if you're enjoying. Vote 6 on the blogs like all those other leagues do.
vs The Noisome Swarthy Woodsmen* take on the Coort-In-Guyz Council Cretins**. What a match up, weapons galore, bribes, wizard, who knows, just so much AV 7 to get murdering. So many niggles on those beaten-up old wood elves to take advantage of, so good luck clearing out your injuries, Jev; and good luck clearing the pitch, Hutchy.
vs The Jim Lahey Experience*** take on the ECB Ladies Ashes Tour. More AV 7 almost entirely, this time with free flying boots and frenzied tacklers on both teams, expect a host of casualties from all sources, though the Ladies may have some inducements to ease that.
* Noisome Swarthy Woodsmen beat NZ invaders claimed by Aussie on head-2-head.
** Coort-In-Guyz Council Cretins should have 13 points, can't fix that now.
*** Jim Lahey Experience beat Southern Sun Lizards on head-2-head.
Races which may be up for grabs for season six: (<- underworld) |

Oh, and while I'm here, the gongs!
Go see for most useful, most fearsome, most luckiest, and most at least he was on pitch. Southern Survivalists League, recognising contributions of all sorts. Carl, if you'd like to do us the honour of counting perms again, that would be just fine. |

Oh, right, sorry Carl, that was m0gw41 tidied it up last time anyway. I can do it myself.
Applications are coming in for Season 6, starting mid September with some luck, we are a Sydney (East Asia/Australasia/West Pacific) time zone league, should be able to play games some time like 1000 to 1300 server time, one game every ten days, 5 pool games in a season (plus playoffs). We do have coaches from the world over managing their games just fine.
We're the Southern Survivalists League, you take what Nuffle gives you, from your randomly designated team, to your permanent injuries that may not be retired, to your +AG on a Wood Elf Treeman that may not be refused, to your random pool placement and no help from star players (except the Stunty teams, and in finals). Spiked ball in play at all times, better fouls, worse POMB, and so on.
As always at this point, we're in an end-of-season rules review phase, suggestions for improvements are welcome. Group page there tidied up a little, feel free to have a look. |

Flings are gone too. If you want Ogres, give us a yell, though they may be already taken if you're too slow!
Anyone else interested goes in the random draw for what's left, Khemri, Orc, Underworld, maybe Ogres if no one picks 'em. I believe we still need one, maybe two more new coaches. If you're late, we keep (and use) a wait list for people to join in if anyone drops unexpectedly. |

Woohoo! Top stuff the Zons. Group page updated.
Still recruiting, by the by! PM jevouse, bigbullies, tussock, if you like the look of those AV 5, MA 4, and ST 2 wonders striding the pitch at the top of their games, many of us are rather worse off and everyone's easier to beat.

SSL Most Battered Teams List
There's a been a general drop in the number of perms in the older teams, coaches are learning where to place their walking wounded to give them the best chance of finding a way out of the SSL.
What's left? Why quite a bit as it happens.
With a delightful 9 perms!
Jim Lahey Experience are yet to lose a permanently injured player, it's no wonder they're up to nine! Still lacking a -AG for the set, the team prefers -MA and niggles.
Star Zerker: Ricky is getting a little slow in his old age. Just as well they come with Jump Up, aye.
Tanuki Terrors were keeping up a fair rate of loss, with 11 further perms leaving the hard way over the seasons, along with 5 healthy flings. 3 on one player though, cheating a bit.
Experienced Fling: Daibingu Kachi continued to frustrate so many coaches for simply refusing to die.
With a cheerie 7 perms!
ECB Ladies Ashes Tour have no trouble carrying a host of hobblers right to the pinnacle of the competition and bringing it home yet again. Should -ST on a thrower even count?
Superstar Thrower: Mary Duggan continues to be the league's greatest one-armed wonder. What a champion.
Bullies Bullys have a slow dwarf who's found new legs to keep pace with his guardmates once more, and otherwise simply had a few leave us. Fortunately, the mini mino stays on.
Veteran Minotaur: Squizzy Taylor has always been the group's favourite. Such a battler.
Worthy mention to the Pact, Goblins, Lizards, and Vamps, who are well in reach of making this list at the end of Season 6. Good luck to them all. |
