I am having some difficulties running a Minosaur on a Chaos Dwarf team. I really want him to get some skills and be great, but so far I feel like he is costing me matches. I am kind-of trying to protect him by not putting him on the LOS initially, but then I found he struggles to get himself into an impactful position as the drive unfolds. I also notice he is not super popular on other Chaos Dwarf teams.
Should I be using a Minotaur on a Chaos Dwarf team? How do I get value from him? What special tricks do you use? |

I've had the same dilemma with a Chaos Mino. Ultimately I decided to exclude the Mino from my team. Too much TV for what it gives you. |

You shouldn't use it before you reach 1800 Tv at least, it's certainly quite a bloat. After that, I think it's cool to have one more beater instead of an hobgoblin on the field.
Big problem with Mino on Chaos Dwarf team : they can have mutation only on doubles. So you'll need two doubles quicly to have a Block, Claw one (really cool) or a Block, Tents one. Won't be easy, and a rookie Mino isn't really usefull at high TV. |

I am playing chorfs in OBBA, and didn't use one for 50 odd games. Too unreliable, too expensive.
I bought one 2 games ago, and she caused 4 casualties and scored a touchdown...so... |

I have recently hired a Minotaur for my high TV Chaos Dwarf team, the reasons are:
1) he's better than a Hobgoblin;
2) fun factor;
3) excuse for defeats ("I lost because my Minotaur bloated the TV");
4) MVP nomination makes skilling him up faster.
I agree about not hiring a Minotaur if the team is low/mid, but at high TV those extra Strength and S access might be useful. |

Minotard is rubbish, I always prefer playing against teams with a minotard in, sure it may do a bit of damage but its negatives outweigh this so much.
i miss my troll |

For sure Minotaurs are overpriced, especially those without regular M access. |

Introduces unreliability to a roster that thrives on being reliable.
And really, the other issue is that the Mino "solves" the CD problem of having low ST across the blockers... but at low tv you sacrifice too much to take him, and at high tv you should have guard across the blockers (and perhaps a bull/both bulls).
I mean, the chaos mino has M on a single, but really, the other point with him is that mostly you see chaos teams start with him (not add later), where they are already an unreliable team, and thus adding st5 MB/frenzy is just a fun way to try and tip the game towards your team by getting 3d each turn and hoping for cas. Meanwhile you've still got a reasonable wall of st4 blockers and an st4 blitz from anywhere to cover things if he screws up.
The CD mino ends up being a passenger all too readily. And he's an expensive one at that. |

Overcosted, fragile, unreliable and easy to kite off position. If you really don't want to field another hobgoblin and don't care about TV, maybe, and some games it will become a murder engine. But more often than not you'll wish that you left it at home.
Personally, I'd rather have one more hobgoblin on the field. |

One more hobgoblin is one more chance to foul. |

If you're fouling as Cdorks, you're probably already in the catbird seat. |
