Good luck guys! I love the way you have decided a small kids is your arch-nemesis! Real manly. Someone is gonna be under a hellova lot of pressure if you play against PeteW's team! In true Fumbbl style, don't forget to get up and walk around the table to view the pitch side on and remember to bemoan the fact that the dice rolls aren't auto generated. |

You're right PC, I hadn't realised it's a teams only event. But the more the more merrier I suppose. If others interested I'd happily join another squad. |

Isn't that the story of the A-Team? |

This is awesome! I am in 100% support of your efforts. My take would be: starting cash can get babes and skills, so the obvious meta would be to pick a cheap, awesome team and stack it with good skills. Let's say, dwarves. If your squad has anyone who is halfway decent at dwarves, that seems like a massively good pick IMO.
Humans, Khemri, Amazons, UD also seem like the kind of teams that get the most from this format. Maybe lizards also. I normally like to think outside the box and go with a star player, but in a format where you can directly buy skills with cash it's probably not the best option - same for babes. 100K on babes is great for an elf team, but 5 skills seems far better to me...
Khemri in particular could be rocking, IMO, if you were brave enough for a tier 2 team. Cheap massive roster with a lot of skills on there.
Elf Union with a bench and a bunch of skills might be tempting.
Here's a Khemri roster (13 players total, or 12 with two more skills):
4 TG (400)
2 Throw-Ras (140)
2 Blitz-Ras (180)
5 Skels (200)
2 RR (140)
which leaves 140 for 7 skills at the start:
TG - Guard
TG - Guard
TG - Block (double - 30K)
Blitz-Ra: MB/Tackle (one allowed stack, 50K total)
Throw-Ra: Leader
Phase 2:
Throw-Ra: Block
TG: break tackle
Phase 3:
Skelly: Wrestle (or dp)
Blitz-Ra: Tackle
***
A dorf roster can easily be put together with 3 RR, everything but the roller, and a apo with 110 left for starting skills. So probably 5 normal skills, two of them on one player.
***
Orcs could be pretty mean, as a cheap team they will get lots of skills.
Something like this could do well (11 total):
4 BOBs
4 blitzers
Troll
Thrower
1 lino
apo
2 RR
that leaves 120 on skills. Could try:
Block troll (30)
Tackle/MB Blitzer (50)
Leader thrower
Guard BOB
Add more guard/block/tackle in later phases.
***
Humans could look like this (12 total):
1 Ogre
4 Blitzer
1 Thrower
4 catcher
2 lino
1 apo
2 RR
that leaves 140 for skills. Might try adding 60K to that and leaving off the 4th catcher.
Block Ogre (30K)
MB/Tackle Blitzer (50K)
Leader thrower
Block catcher x1
Guard blitzer x2
phase 2-3 skills could be mostly blodging up catchers, with some wrestle thrown in there.
it's an interesting meta. those are some initial reactions, but I have faith the FUMBBL community will provide you numerous exciting options.

Anyway, there are all sorts of ot |

i did not read the rules, just the comment above. But this screams for amazons. Linos and blitzers. Take as many guard, and some wrestles then dwarf matchup is manageable, and no need to take tackle skill. |

I strongly recommend reading the rules.
You have to spend 1100 on the team, minimum. They you buys skills.

This is a good thing to do, indeed! You know, I read them... just not well apparently. |

You should look into Tabletop Tourneys in your area and (hint-hint) the Northern Illinois area... |
